Imagine proposing state Police to wear body cam , yet you couldn’t implement this upon assuming your position as the new IGP. But proposing it for state police. If you want us to take you serious, this body cam should be implemented within the next 90 days. And requesting for 60 months transition is so absurd 12-24 months is enough. Many states already has existing security architectures that can be implemented as state police and others can use the same framework. secondly, %60 of of current police moving to State will also lead to comatose behaviors currently occurring in NPF and I’m vehemently opposed to such move. Senior police personnel can be deployed and train new state recruits, and subsequently return to their positions just like when EFCC was established and later produced Ribadu as chairman from the police. Same template should apply to State police formations and streamlined in accordance with standards operating procedures.
