Holy fuck guys we’re not "pushing hard" for or replacing concept artists with AI. We have a team of 72 artists of which 23 are concept artists and we are hiring more. The art they create is original and I’m very proud of what they do. I was asked explicitly about concept art and our use of Gen AI. I answered that we use it to explore things. I didn’t say we use it to develop concept art. The artists do that. And they are indeed world class artists. We use AI tools to explore references, just like we use google and art books. At the very early ideation stages we use it as a rough outline for composition which we replace with original concept art. There is no comparison. I talked about how we use ML here if you would like to know more: gamespot.com/articles/baldu… We've hired creatives for their talent, not for their ability to do what a machine suggests, but they can experiment with these tools to make their lives easier.

My personal GoTY & why list for the last 6 years. What is yours? 2019 - Outward: It's indie, it's low budget, it's janky, but damn it was made by true RPG fans. The devs really hit hard on classic RPG elements that many modern day studios were scrapping. 2020 - BG3 early access: It was already basically a game in & of itself & I could see the crazy potential for 1.0. I would give this year to Cyberpunk but it had a rough launch & I didnt play until years later. 2021 - Solasta: I played mostly old games during this time so I don't have a ton to go off of but Solasta stands out. It was a fun passionate indie 5e game that gave us something similar to BG3 but also very different. Pathfinder WotR was also amazing but I didn't actually finish it so I'm going with Solasta. 2022 - Elden Ring: Challenging, dark, fun, & to experience a FromSoft game open-world style was pretty awesome. 2023 - Baldur's Gate 3: Don't need to say much as you already get it. I will say Hogwarts Legacy did hit hard with the nostalgia factor despite its many many flaws, but nothing even comes close to BG3. 2024 - Dragon's Dogma 2: Perhaps a divisive one, but I found the open-world exploration in that game to be some of the BEST out there. It has its shortcomings, but man I had so much fun. Looking back I do really wish I could be saying Dragon Age for 2024, but yeah that didn't turn out the way I hoped lol 2025 - Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: Right up there with BG3 as one of the best games ever made. The most immersive medieval RPG on the market with such a great cast of relatable real feeling characters. With all that said, I don't really play a ton of games each year so my list to choose from is rather small. I'm fairly selective & somewhat picky with what I choose to spend my most valuable resource on! (time)

Honestly, not bad at all for EU. G2 vs TES is tough but winnable. If skew and Labrov can keep their form, it's possible. FNC vs CFO is tough but winnable although CFO are really good. MKOI vs. KT is tough but Jojo vs. BDD is going to be a banger.
