Beyond Digital Violence: How Online Hindutva Abuse Silences And Sidelines Women From Political Participation Hindutva online abuse should be understood as a category of technology-facilitated political violence & not as just another manifestation of online harassment, given the fact that the weight of the state machinery is behind it. These are systematic attempts to silence and sideline women and must be viewed as such. I write for @FeminismInIndia, as part of the Laadli Media Fellowship, 2025 (@Laadli_PF). Extremely thankful to @tishasaroyan for speaking with me for this piece and sharing her experience. Huge shoutout to @TeamSaath as well. #Hindutva #DigitalViolence #OnlineHarassment #Misogyny feminisminindia.com/2025/12/12/bey…

How Unrestricted Digital Access Shapes Gender Perceptions Among Boys And Young Men: The manosphere is perhaps the singular greatest threat when it comes to introducing and reinforcing misogyny for boys and young men. The influence the manosphere has on impressionable young boys is often underdiscussed and lost in the overblown panic over screen times and moralistic handwringing over pornography. However, the potential for harm that the manosphere holds is mammoth. I write for @FeminismInIndia, as part of the Laadli Media Fellowship, 2025 (@Laadli_PF). #DigitalViolence #OnlineHarassment #Manosphere #Misogyny #MensRights #Incels #MGTOW #AndrewTate feminisminindia.com/2025/12/05/how…

I'm looking to speak to politically conscious and vocal women who don't engage in online political discourse due to the prospect of Hinduta online harassment. If this is you or someone you know, please reach out. All leads appreciated. #JournoRequest

Mahua Moitra and Supriya Sule dancing in Naveen Jindal's family wedding is the fall of Indian liberalism and exposes how performative, elitist and cringe it is. Their fencesitter fans are like those who helped the IAC movement, go on circles about minority appeasement , love tharoor, do both sidism, read Jaishankar books, watch nitish rajput, do MUNs & ironically drink star buck coffee while talking about free Palestine.

Just an hour ago, I got a call from an unknown number. A man told me, “Your (@MaktoobMedia) work is an irritation. Even if something happens in the country, why are you highlighting it? India is a big country, things happen every second. Who are you to bother?” I barely managed to say, “I am a journalist,” before he cut the call. He heard that part clearly. Thank God the call wasn’t abusive, unlike many others I receive every single day. Today too. But this is the question we are always asked when we report human rights violations: Why are you saying these things Why can’t you keep quiet? Why don’t you let everything be ‘normal’? And that question itself exposes the whole truth. We want to live peacefully. We want to live with dignity. We want everyone, every community, every family, every child, to live without fear. So anything that violates peace, dignity, and justice must be documented, exposed, questioned. For us, journalism is a justice-delivering tool. If we document honestly, if we call a spade a spade, if we refuse to be prejudiced or biased, then that is journalism. And that is exactly what Maktoob has been doing since 2014. Our stories define us. One of our biggest challenges is financial survival. We are funded directly by readers. Subscriptions keep us alive. If you believe independent journalism should exist, support it. Subscribe to Maktoob. Support independent journalism. Because in a country where those in power are busy delivering “journalism lectures”, readers must have a space, a platform, and a voice of their own. Maktoob is that space. Stand with us. Such marriages are a human rights violation that pose grave risks to the health and wellbeing of girls, and create life-long disadvantages for them.

West Bengal recorded the highest number of child marriages in India. Despite having numerous policy measures and cash incentives to end and discourage the practice, the state continues to deal with high levels of child and early marriage. #ChildMarriage #WestBengal

‘These characters can be strong only if they still perform femininity for the patriarchal gaze. They can be self-willed women, but only so far as it doesn’t hurt patriarchal sensibilities.’ Read: tinyurl.com/3njyt4dw I write for @FeminismInIndia #BaahubaliTheEpic #Review

#BaahubaliTheEpic was an opportunity to rewrite some of the critical errors of the previous two films and address serious issues regarding misogyny, the patriarchal gaze, and bigotry; yet the makers seem to be interested in no such thing. #FilmReview feminisminindia.com/2025/11/04/baa…

This feat holds great significance for women’s healthcare and is a timely reminder that state investment in maternal and neonatal care is crucial to saving lives that are often lost to preventable causes.

Kerala recorded an infant mortality rate (IMR) of 5 in 2023, according to the recently released Sample Registration System (SRS) Statistical Report, 2023. This makes Kerala one of the only states whose IMR is in the single digits. #Kerala #IMR #MaternalMortality #Health #Infant
