@Citi973 Massa talk well. Don’t just join NPP in their propaganda unless you’re a part of them. What’s there to fear about the tribunals anyway?

“This is a ‘yɛn tie obiara’ government” — Elvis Darko
Editor of NewsCenta, Elvis Darko, has criticised the government’s handling of the Tribunals Bill, accusing it of adopting a “yɛn tie obiara” (we won’t listen to anyone) approach by using its parliamentary majority to pass the legislation despite public opposition.

"Your government commands one of the largest majorities in the 4th Republic. With such numbers, Parliament can pass almost any Bill it wishes, [but] not everything that can be passed should be passed." - NPP Flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has urged President Mahama to engage stakeholders like the Ghana Bar Association, civil society and political parties, including the NPP, before assenting to the Tribunals Bill.

NPP Flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, says his call for President Mahama to refrain from signing the Tribunals Bill into law is not a partisan one.
He argues that the opposition of the TUC is an indication that criticism of the Bill transcends partisan politics.

🇬🇭 “From Chicago, I checked in using my Ghana Card, and nobody asked me any questions. When I arrived in Ghana, I also faced no issues because of my Ghana Card. So, if Bawumia says he is coming to repair Ghana, we should give him the chance.”
— A Ghanaian man shared his experience after returning from abroad, praising the effectiveness of the Ghana Card and saying Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia deserves the opportunity to lead the country.

@RAahiagbah Ahiagbah, pls what and what have you criticized this govt of that makes you feel Ghanaians align with you on? Unnecessary talk isn’t moving us anymore cos we’ve known better. Plsss stop these concert and fix the party you belong to.

Good morning, Your Excellency, President John Dramani Mahama. If Kevin Taylor is moving around free, then Camila Alhassan should not be in jail. Fair is fair, Mr. President
This repressive action against Camila Alhassan was carried out in your name. The heavy-handedness does no favors for your legacy, because such efforts can't silence citizens in a democracy; they never worked in the past, and they won't work now.
The only thing to be gained from these arrests and harassment of critics of your government is more dissenters and critics. Eventually, the people will prevail because this is a democracy, and citizens will speak out or vent their frustrations regardless of the cost.
The only thing that silences dissent is results, but so far, the results are lacking; you cannot silence Ghanaians when the government fails to deliver. We will dissent even louder because it is our right to speak up. Your government will be overwhelmed by dissent if repression and suppression are your responses.
More Camila Alhassans will emerge to hold your government accountable.

@Gen_Buhari_ It’s lies that feed some people so I can’t blame you for this one. Loool are you sure you know where you’re even showing the public? Get serious small
English

@DennisMiracles Massa, stop the fooling yourself. You think if the party in govt wants to silent you because you declare to contest a position in your party, they are that stupid to effect this kind of arrest now? Don’t tickle yourself.
English

I AM OUT. I AM UNBROKEN. AND I AM MORE READY THAN EVER. THANK YOU PATRIOTS!
Four days ago, just one day after I declared my intention to serve our great party as National Communications Director, I was picked up and detained by EOCO. A false narrative was put out about my arrest, but Ghanaians are not fools, and neither are the good people of the New Patriotic Party. The facts and the truth, will prevail!!
FOR THE RECORDS: THERE WAS NO Discussion OF ANY GHc55million cedis with me by EOCO. None!!!
To every party faithful who hit the streets, who raised their voices, who refused to be silent, I saw you. I heard you. From my detention, word of your protests reached me, and it kept my spirit standing tall. You did not just defend Dennis Miracles Aboagye; you defended the principle that no voice can be intimidated into silence.
Let me be clear: if the intention was to break me, it has failed. If the intention was to scare me, it has failed spectacularly. I will lead New Patriotic Party’s communications Directorate to command the narrative, and no cell, no false story, no intimidation will change that.
Fuel, has only been added to fire 🔥
To my legal team, party leadership, and every single supporter who stood with me, thank you.
This journey is no longer mine alone. It is ours.
We move. Stronger. Louder. Together.
Built to Lead. Ready to Win. 🔴🔵⚪

@konkrumah Some people don’t know they’ve long lost credibility. Massa, we know better than any form of propaganda.
English

Miracles was arrested on Saturday upon his return to Ghana. A man who had previously responded to invitations to answer questions. He was not a flight risk. Indeed he had just landed in Accra. He was denied access to lawyers on Saturday and Sunday. The government knew all along they won’t interrogate him till Monday. But they arrested him and kept him.
On Monday at 8pm he was granted 50m cedis bail with three sureties two of which should be justified. Obviously the plan is to keep him for days. If you think this is where our rule of law should go, that’s fine. He will survive this. But it becomes the new normal.
Two other NPP communicators have been arrested in the last 3 days. Of course the state will never admit it is designed to suppress dissenting voices. But again this has become the new normal.
Cry my beloved country.
English

@kofitonto You guys think you belong to some special grouping of Ghanaians? That’s what the law says, that a suspect’s lawyer should be engaged before the arrest the suspect? Massa, if you have something else to say, pls do but don’t try to segregate citizens bcos Dennis is a politician.
English

@konkrumah EOCO is even helping you, the NPP and Bawumia especially because this guy hasn’t helped you guys with the way he talks. Pray he stays there longer so your party can undergo some reset. But you koraaaa, keep quiet.
English

The use of arrests and detention as a tool to intimidate political opponents by this government is just shocking. When a man is easily locatable, there is no reason for which you will arrest and detain him on a Saturday to be investigated the ff week. The precedents being set by this govt just undermine all the decades of progress we’ve made as a country on matters of rule of law.

English

Third-term Agenda
At this rate, why would President Mahama seek another term? This attempt at a third term is a dead end. Ghana is not prepared for such, and I believe President Mahama will not entertain the idea.
The Supreme Court must reflect the mood of the country.
Long live the Fourth Republic
