Phone lines don’t stop this… and in the meantime the children in those images? This should be dealt at source. Those abusing the kids. Not trying to waste PR to convince men/women that what they’re doing is wrong.

@FunkButcher Currently, we wait for people to abuse kids before doing anything and then fail miserably to deal with it when it does happen. If a simple phone line stops (or even better, prevents) a dozen children being abused, it's worth it. I wonder how many people actually call them.

@FunkButcher It’s the narrative that’s being created. We’re seeing interviews with people who perpetuate the idea that they are in fact the victims of a ‘problem’ or an ‘illness’ they have, which absolutely positions the children as the object of desire rather than the victim. Insanity.

@itschenai Agreed. It doesn’t feel as though children/survivors are centred in a compassionate way. They’re positioned as an object of desire that some people are wrestling with which is of no fault to the child.
