@froyooo23 @Dexerto Also mainstream anime are mainstream for a reason. No reason to gatekeep the hobby as a whole because her interests aren’t “niche”. If anything the spike in popularity of anime among westerners had allowed for larger or at least better funded projects (ie. Tbhx, reze, infinity).

@froyooo23 @Dexerto She’s not being glazed. Celebrities are influencers irrespective of their desire to be or not. The attention towards her interest in anime/manga is the product of her platform as an olympic athlete in conjunction with the growing relevance of anime in the zeitgeist.
