Guarantee is an interesting word when describing Yordan. He’s a guarantee to be a great hitter, is his health? Is it a guarantee the Astros will be contenders before his contract runs out (28’)? Is it a guarantee the Astros re-sign him? You can guarantee players back in a trade versus only guaranteeing a comp pick if/when he leaves. It’s nuanced.

Assuming the Astros are out of the race in July, would you trade Yordan? I'm on the fence because I love watching him hit, but that trade could be a catalyst to the future golden era.

The Astros have identified Vladimir Guerrero Jr. as one of their top targets for a trade, per sources. It will take a lot to land a player like him, who will be a free agent in 2026, but he would bring a big bat and solve the first base problem.
