This is what happens you purposely misconstrue what people are saying. They are saying the NORM should be gentle, fully informed, full consent. In most cases, it’s not. It’s not that they’re refusing to advocate for themselves. These BASIC ideas should be the standard of care

Natalist fearmongering will never move me. If young people are having less sex I think the appropriate response to that is acceptance rather than endlessly pathologizing them and bullying them into having sex for the sake of upholding tradition. Sex is not a human need.

Isolating when you have been in contact with a virus that has 40% mortality rate should not be a suggestion, it should be LAW. These people will directly be at fault for the deaths of others if they do not adhere. They should then also be held accountable for those deaths.

We’ve gone from “the IUD is more painful than a smear” (yes, AND you had other options), to “if you have sex, you should be able to tolerate a smear”. I fear millennial women have utterly lost it. We have become our parents. Lovely.

Now people are trying to compare IUDs and the coil to Pap smears. No one is forcing you to have a coil or IUD. There are dozens of other PAINLESS options for you. There are minimal options for smears.

How about, if you care about HPV and cervical cancer, HELP them? Share resources? Advocate for better tools within gynaecology (given that self sampling is becoming more common). ANYTHING. But you choose to “let them die”. Says everything about you.
