Starting in 2026, the LA Marathon may allow runners to stop at 18 miles and still receive a finisher medal due to heat concerns. The full marathon is 26.2 miles. Personally… I’m torn. On one hand, safety matters. On the other, the marathon distance has always been part of the challenge. Curious what runners think. If you stop at mile 18… did you finish a marathon? 🏃♂️
