What makes this even more disgusting is that the accused MIL is a retired judge and the Husband, a lawyer.
People who know exactly how the system works.
Exactly how to use the law.
Exactly how to protect themselves through procedure while a dead woman waits for justice.
How many more Indian daughters have to be BEATEN, TORTURED, BURNED, or KILLED before this country starts treating dowry violence like the epidemic it is instead of a routine domestic issue?
Because clearly, being dead is still not ENOUGH.
