8 out of 9 teams in the Canadian Football League playoffs takes away from what makes those games special.
Playoff football is supposed to be earned. If anything, grow the league by adding more teams…. not the number of automatic spots. 🤷🏽♂️

@emanningwrites a data point I shared last year is that 1 reason why Canadian teams don't win the Stanley cup is that when American teams lose in the playoffs they try to acquire more skill and scoring and when Canadian teams lose, they go for size and grit and that doesn't carry in the playoffs

@RedBlackGade It will also do those things. And I wasn’t even talking about expansion - though I’d love to be able to share our amazing game with other cities. The current field doesn’t fit in Toronto or Montreal!

For the last time, the CFL rule changes aren't because the game isn't entertaining - it's the best! But right now, it can only be correctly played in 7 stadiums in the world! Also because it's 2025 and there's still a metal pole planted in the middle of the playing surface. #CFL

@CFLonTSN @TSNDaveNaylor @DuaneFordeTSN For now. They gutted everything they could outside of bargaining. Anything that didn't require player approval for health & safety/CBA reasons. They will come for the rest when the CBA expires. These are the first (and major) steps towards full convergence with NFL rules.
