@rocyofox @Alysterwolf I did something very similar a few years ago (just used CLIP instead of DINOv3) and the results were excellent when using small models. It ran entirely in CPU and used 2 CPU seconds per query. It would hypothetically cost ~$40 USD to inference all of Furtrack on AWS.

@Alysterwolf the idea is awesome but who's going to pay for the GPUs to run something like this on every fursuit picture 😭

@SkyPlays615346 @IkarioRainbow It harms the relationship between FWA and the venue, someone has to spend time, resources and mental energy investigating this, and it can raise costs by mandating increased insurance coverage. Ultimately it's costs that someone innocent may have to pay for.

@zootzkii I've heard rumors of who's organizing it, I don't want to name names based on rumors but what I've heard consistently is the person behind it is controversial and may be partly be why there's so little information about it... it may also be a ballroom or two, not a full con.

i find it realllyyyy telling that not a single person in the ny community knows whos organizing this or where it even came from 😵‍💫

@OmanTheHuman1 @kael_fangs If this is a checked bag, barcodes are used by automatic baggage sorting machines. Having other barcodes/old barcodes from previous flights can confuse the machines, this could be some airport staff's creative way of preventing that. Usually they just remove it entirely.

@kael_fangs is that like a furry tsa person or is that literally just the data on the barcodes and the tsa has a policy of scanning them/writing down what they say
