It makes sense when you realize how spoiled Roblox players are compared to literally any other platform. No other platform can even remotely compare to what Roblox has. Full custom avatar system. Hundreds of thousands of games to play. Voice chat. Create your own games for free. Create UGC accessories. Make money. Make potentially millions of dollars off your work. And a moderation system to make this entire network of things possible. All of this, and the company is not profitable. They report losses every year. The investors are now forcing Roblox's hand to start becoming profitable or face potential hostile takeovers. The players however are used to having everything they could ever want all in Roblox for very little cost or for free. Literally any action Roblox could take regarding charging for memberships the majority of its playerbase would have an issue with. This is why they will slowly build up the value of Roblox plus over time, to eventually make it such a good deal you can't NOT have it - yes, including rentals of Limited's. Even back in my days of posting on the Roblox forum people then would complain when Roblox does something to boost its revenue (introduction of TBC and OBC for example), yet I have always had a very simple philosophy about this matter: No pay? No play.
