@iuubob Does this mean the "pull and pray" method works for international conflict also?

Even the president is amazed the market takes his statements at face value.

So Strait blocked, timeline moves further out, meanwhile Iran has yet to even agree to another round of talks and yet here we are, optimistic. Well, alrighty then!

@dhruv_ky and BTW the "posturing" is all framed by the president's team, we have zero visibility into the Iranian side, only history of how they negotiate to rely on

@iuubob Market is giving him a pass and Iran seems to be “posturing for a deal”

What I find far more interesting than this tweet is the picture showing Stevie Miller Deputy Chicef of Staff was at the table. That was quite clearly at the president's behest.

Why is it that I think that all the optimism with respect to the US/Iran discussions/negotiations is coming from one side and the aim isn't to merely illuminate the backroom dealings going on. Iran is notoriously difficult to negotiate with, should that be less so in this case? I hardly think so. I am sidelined ATM and have zero skin in the game. That said, I'm not buying this rosy picture being sold.

The fact is Don needs the Strait of Hormuz unblocked, absent that gas is gonna be too high for him not to bleed politically and bleed profusely. I think he understands the same. The problem is he isn't negotiating with a party who has the same needs nor a remotely similar timeline. He has a real problem without an easy solution.
