It's simple. Smash has to ban everything to make it a viable fighting game. No items, special rules, limited stages, no supers, etc. I dont really care either way, but thats we have terms like -platform fighter- and -arena fighter-. Or you can just say party game LOL As for hating it? The community kinda sucks I guess would be the simple answer. But this comes after melee. The main core fgc likes melee. Everything after, yea.......

Ok, so, I have a quick question to the FGC. Why doesn't anyone think Super Smash bros is a fighting game or just hate it in general? Because I'm very curious about it and I enjoy Both Fighting games and Smash bros.

this is fine for handling the physical aspects, but i just wanted to add onto this that the biggest element of writing smut imo is the emotional part, and usually when a smut scene doesn't land, it's not because of the logistics of the movement or the sensory detail, but because

my biggest tip for writing smut is establish the action happening. then, rotate thru all 5 senses: how does it feel, how do they look, how do they sound, how do they taste (kissing), and how do they smell (perfume/if applicable) break paragraph for dialogue or action repeat

@OG_Zig_Zag @WeegeeThe3rd I think the items contention is resolved when you realize that "party game" is not a genre but a design philosophy (Mario party is a board game, Mario kart is a racing game) So smash is a fighting game with party game stuff added in

@ividboy @WeegeeThe3rd Items have always been a massive point of contention simply bc it adds an extra element of RPS/randomness to the mental stack. I'm sure this game has depth that I just don't know about but the outside factor of the ball makes it seem a little... weird to me I guess.

@ividboy @Lunafaneia the burst gain on wallstick was added to combat wallslumps that were primarily abused heavily by HC, and more situationally by I-no, but now that wallslump just doesnt exist anymore theres literally no reason for it to exist

@Lunafaneia Wallstick burst was literally only put into place to stop wallslumps though, and resetting over and over the avoid it isn’t feasible for a lot of the cast

@OG_Zig_Zag @WeegeeThe3rd There's up close RPS where you can swing on a ball as its about to release to catch it without having to guess the angle, but the opponent can parry (blue bubble) to freeze you for doing that, but then you can grab the parried ball and hit them for free but grab loses to no parry

@OG_Zig_Zag @WeegeeThe3rd Yes obviously you have to hit the ball but I want you to tell me how you win at a game of Lethal League without making your opponent get hit by the ball (winning being the objective of the game presumably)

@OG_Zig_Zag @WeegeeThe3rd What no its not you have to hit the other person with the ball and how they move around effects how you have to angle and juggle the ball to try to hit them You can hit the ball by your lonesome all you want and it does nothing unless you hit the other guy with it

the problem with fire emblem isnt that theres 8 of them its that ALL of them are swords and MOST of them are identical would be no issue if there were bows or axes or lances or whatnots

I hate when people act like Fire Emblem is over-represented in Smash It’s a first party franchise & it has one of the largest collections of characters from a gaming franchise ever, & it’s still actively growing to this day FE deserves every spot it gets, & could use a few more
