@Olufemiloye Dr Olu, I’m a farmer that can work in any farm or plantation, wouldn’t mind paying back with interest. Thanks

In 2009, aged 27, one year after NYSC, I decided to be a man and quit my brother’s BQ in his VI home to start my own independent life.
I searched for house to rent on Nairaland property section and one agent took me to a 2 bedroom flat (pic below) in a place called Langbasa in Ajah for N250k per annum.
I stayed there until 2012 when my wife felt we needed a better place and we moved to a newly built 3 bedroom in the estate part of the community, initially for N400k per annum, later N500k.
In 2014, we bought a plot of land near our rented house and started our own small bungalow, which we finished in 2015.
We did another house nearby between 2017 and 2020.
I integrated into the community by regularly playing football with the indigenes and residents. I try to support them too. They gave me the nickname “Oh my God”, because I was fond of shouting that anytime I missed goals, so the boys just named me “Oh my God”.
When I started a real estate company in 2022, I started from there, being my most familiar terrain in Lagos. My company bought their lands and built 6 properties in three years. I built one more personally too.
So, from a 27 year old that went to rent a house there in 2009, by the time I left, we had done 9 properties, arguably the most beautiful in the community.
I have moved on. I left the community in 2023 to move to another area. My company, having completed its 6 projects there, has also moved on to other areas of Lagos, and spread to Abuja.
But I am happy that I left a footprint in that community. We gave contracts - from supply of sands to carpentary works - to their people. Three of my current permanent employees are also from the community.
We support with contribution to transformer procurement, drainage and repair of roads, within our capacity.
From playing a part in its modernization to supporting their children.
If I was a title-seeking person, I could easily talk to the Oba to give me a title in that community. Maybe Atunluse of Langbasa?
I will return to the community this weekend again for the final of the community football competition I lead-sponsored. It’s a football competition that has been held annually even before I moved there in 2009 and I played in 13 consecutive editions between 2010 and 2022, winning two. I stopped playing there in 2022, but decided to sponsor the 2025 edition.
It’s a place that is close to my heart.

Children don’t experience their parents the same way. It’s a hard truth both parents and kids struggle to accept.
One might be born when you’re in love, another when you’re barely holding it together.
One arrives during struggle, another after your breakthrough.
Each will meet a different version of you.
Each will walk away with a different story about who you were.
And turn out differently because of it.
You start to wonder, What did I do wrong with this one?
Maybe you didn’t do anything wrong.
Sometimes… you just didn’t do.

I was in 200l, exams period, when a boy of about 12yrs almost got me lynched. I Just packed to that area. A ghetto bikes couldn't get to, so I had to usher my coursemates to my new place. It was on my way I met THE devil. I wish I didn't smile at kids, particularly that one(contd

This small girl at Yaba begged me for money, but I ignored her because I was rushing and didn’t have time. I didn’t know she followed me. When a bus was coming, she pushed me towards it, but luckily, a woman selling something nearby quickly held me back.

But when it was Kwam 1, you stayed silent and hurried to plaster his apology everywhere. Now that it’s someone else, you’ve suddenly found the energy to churn out think pieces. Despicable man. That is why the creator made you travel-size for everyone’s convenience.

Anger management should be part of our daily lives. Anger has landed her in Kirikiri. Anger can cost you many things.

I was at the British Museum yesterday & my blood boiled nonstop throughout the 40 mins experience.
Before I share my experience with the Nigerian section, let me tell you about the most chilling view that upset me the most.
This is the tree of life and it is from Mozambique 🇲🇿
The Mozambican Civil War, which started 2 years after they gained independence from Portugal was a 15-year conflict that occurred between May 30, 1977 and October 4, 1992.
Although masked as an internal civil war, it was in fact a proxy war between the Soviet Union and the United States.
This war claimed over a million lives.
After the war, a project called "Transforming Arms Into Tools" launched and it was aimed at incentivizing citizens who had arms from the war to lay them down, in exchange for tools for farming.
Over 600,000 weapons got collected and dismantled.
So, 4 artists took parts from all of these dismantled weapons and weaved it into this 3-metre standing "Tree Of Life".
Somehow, it got "installed" in the British Museum in 2005.
Relics and symbols of cultural heritage that shouldn't have left our homes - sit in glasses as attraction latches, for a show to the same people who came raiding.
This should not have left the soil of Mozambique - it is a symbol of pain, agonizing deaths. It has the fusion of a million blood enmeshed in these arms.
This doesn't belong here.

@Profesorval @DukeDarls Of course I agree that lots of businesses fails but that’s simply because people tend to jump into business they’ve little or no knowledge about…
Investing or starting a business you’ve broad knowledge about is always the best, it’ll be very hard to fail when you’re sure of it.

I saw this somewhere, and I thought it made sense. Many children have become enemies of their fathers because of what their mothers said about them. If you are in such a position, did you ask your father for his side of the story? Do you want your children to treat you the way you treated your father? I come in peace.
