@ramsey49281649 @ClimateGaliev got warned off non-anglosphere choices vehemently by pretty much everyone otherwise I’d go to mexico (funding in argentina doesn’t exist anymore for obvious reasons). plus v apprehensive about german programs after gaza

Genghis Khan and Qin Shi Huangdi are the touchstones of JDPON. This is the answer.

@RashmanTheHorse @ijzimx Bergquist is the GOAT. His other book, 'Labor in Latin America' is truly essential and probably my preferred English-language recommendation for any of the countries it discusses (Argentina, Chile, Venezuela, Colombia)

Montoneros also sent some Argentine fighters to Lebanon. Bizarrely this later meant that Israel denied asylum to Jewish Montoneros after the coup but did offer it to (Jewish) revolutionary guevarists from the ERP

The PLO was the center of a surprisingly international movement during the 1970s. You had Quebecois nationalists, the Red Army Faction, Sandinistas, Japanese Red Army, Tamil Tigers, and Armenian Secret Army all training with them — Most of the big names were there in Lebanon.

@Absurd_Ruka @bombita_trava Probably the most infamous criminal case in Argentina in the last decade was a bunch of rugbiers beating an (argentine) guy to death for looking too brown

@bombita_trava I've read it's also the favored sport of the European white, cause it's one of the few (unlike football) in which the base isn't majority immigrants

Reading about the first indigenous rugby club in Argentina, which formed in 1993 and drew mainly from Qompi/Toba players. The founder was an ex-rugby coach who was also a former Neo-Nazi and said his leftist mom didn't let him read Mein Kampf? Argentina is crazy man 😭
