Green cM values show shared DNA. When multiple DNA relatives converge on a branch of a family tree, the likely position of an unknown person is clear. Othram's GGPS evaluates all possible placements automatically, using genetics + genealogy. #dnasolves maps.othram.com

Excellent article by @germanrlopez for the @nytimes about a big, important problem in the US: Most crimes aren’t solved. If you murder someone, it’s essentially a coin flip whether you’ll be arrested for it. If you steal a car, you’ll almost certainly get away with it. Increasing the probability that would-be offenders get caught has a huge deterrent effect. (There is lots of strong empirical evidence showing this.) I genuinely believe that doing so is our ticket out of mass incarceration. It’s time to start investing time, energy, and money in finding ways to increase solve rates.

Honored Othram could assist the Toronto Police Service, one of our first law enforcement partners, in identifying a 1996 John Doe. His name is being withheld at the request of family. It's tremendous what TPS has done to solve cases in Canada! #dnasolves dnasolves.com/articles/toron…
