FYI: "Cf." means "compare." It does not mean "See" or "See also."

@peligrietzer i think what miranda said is meant to imply is that at the particular time she bought the sweater most of the blue clothes were cerulean
English

@izzitrin wait is the idea that in her time cerulean is the only shade of blue that exists in retail?
English

This speech always confuses me, why should she be impressed they chose the color of her sweater if she doesn't care about her sweater? 'What you don't know is the font on your rent contract is not Garamond, not Garamond Premier, but Adobe Garamond'
luca@waynesfury
how did meryl streep not win the oscar for this
English

@peligrietzer it would be one thing to discover there’s a new 6th sense you never experienced before, and another to discover that it was being suppressed deliberately by Big Sense all along, and this would likely be the case even if the 6th sense had no real impact on your daily functioning
English

@peligrietzer her reaction to the belts was normative, she thought she had a say on how fine-grained the distinctions are/should be, and was rattled upon being made aware that she only thought this because most of the logical space of choices were never available to her in the first place
English

@peligrietzer preference any deeper influence or think that this is a desire that is shaped by forces outside of her awareness. people think “i like this color because i like it, so ill buy a shirt this color even though i don’t care about the construction of the shirt or whatever”
English

@peligrietzer ok yes i do see this now. but i guess i think of color as being a quality of clothing that most people actually do make deliberate choices about. like andy did probably choose the blue sweater over a different one because she likes blue. but she would not attribute to this
English

@peligrietzer whether you think this is true or not is another thing but the fact that the plot of this movie happens means that at least andy did
English

@peligrietzer meryl’s point is that everyone dresses in ways that ultimately reflect something about values they hold dear, and that both people’s deliberate caring about fashion and their deliberate anti-caring ultimately are decided by her
English

@evilpredator6 i’m literally not hating on it?? the point of this tweet is that i love that stuff
English

@izzitrin Nyt cooking is innovative and good so stop hating on it WHY
