@NinerAdvocate That lineup in Costa Rica was picked to win.
You can disappointed we lost but still celebrate qualifying for the freaking World Cup.
And yes, winning the Nations League and Gold Cup, both of which won by beating Mexico, is an accomplishment.

Say that my standards are too high, but I believe a national team should never approach any game as a planned / acceptable loss & they should be able to win away too.

Pardon me, but I cannot celebrate backing into the World Cup on a 2-0 loss. What a confidence destroying, limp / lame, beta response.
Also, newsflash: the world cup isn't played on U.S. soil. Never being able to win away from home is a BIT of a problem. #usmnt

This is a participation trophy. It's more of the beta mentality that causes some people to hate soccer. A lot of their gripes are stupid. This one isn't. It's a mindset. A loser mindset.
