@j_more_ @plainstriumph @ClayTravis I get why people are happy to see something normal and pro-dad,it's refreshing. But Jacob's right that the overall pattern matters more than the exception. When the rule is still heavy progressive messaging, one good ad feels more like damage control than a real change of heart.

The culture shift is real, this Disney cruise ship ad aimed at dads is fantastic:

When most of their modern work pushes far-left values (DEI, villainizing American history, etc), and then they act like they’re pro-family, I dislike them more than if they just kept it honest and stayed 80% woke

@j_more_ @ClayTravis People have such a weird relationship with Disney. Like, I like their movies but I don’t expect or need them to validate my worldview. This is just “Disney adults” but conservative

@PubPlanPosting Thank you for confirming that was sarcasm in your first reply. My condolences to you for your not seeing my sarcasm in my reply to you. In all seriousness, it is true the video merely points out irregularities (my point) and it’s possible it could be easily explained.

@j_more_ I don’t want to get too into this on here but I have it on good authority that ICE has been incinerating immigrants and releasing ash at the same time these weather systems come through.

Just an observation: Michigan snow looks weird lately.

@PubPlanPosting EXACTLY. The video isn’t a good example, but that’s because you can’t interact with it. I got out of my car tonight and it felt like I was walking on weird carpet, and I squished it between my fingers and it softened before melting — felt like flour. Very dusty.

@j_more_ I noticed it too. It’s squeaky like styrofoam and doesn’t melt in my mouth. Very weird!

@plainstriumph I was thinking of that. Don’t know what a testing kit would look like, but if it’s affordable and I could interpret the results, that is an interesting idea.

@j_more_ Test it then. We know that dust in the air affects snow

@plainstriumph Meaning: despite no moisture difference, there’s some other difference (chemical, perhaps?) that is changing how MI snow interacts with its environment.

@plainstriumph That’s just it though — when I moved out here years ago, I experienced dry snow for the first time. Blows everywhere. Sticks to nothing (unless it freezes). This is the first MI winter I’ve experienced snow that sticks like a “wet” winter snow (like the PNW) despite being “dry.”
