Through these resolutions, democratic countries have jointly confirmed the following points:
•China’s interpretation of Resolution 2758 is incorrect
•The resolution does not determine Taiwan’s status or sovereignty
•China’s claim constitutes an abuse and distortion of a UN resolution
This marks a significant shift.
It means that democratic nations are beginning to officially align on the correct reading of UN Resolution 2758.
This is extremely important.
Until now, much of the international community has often chosen silence —
even when aware of the facts —
in the face of China’s aggressive posture and economic coercion.
But that phase is ending.
China’s false narrative will no longer be ignored.
The international community is entering a new stage.
This also means that the foundations of the following Chinese claims are quietly beginning to erode:
•The assertion that a Taiwan contingency is merely “China’s internal affair”
•The logic used to exclude international involvement altogether
Japan’s participation in this movement is not about confrontation with China.
It is about restoring facts and international law to their proper place.
That is why Japan’s bipartisan parliamentary group is preparing a statement —
not to support “Taiwan independence,”
but to ensure that discussions are not built on false premises.
