@VoiceOfTheStar I know some folks are upset with not landing Dean b/c of the obvious connection to Parker. But what’s the old quote? “Your best ability is availability.” Dean: 30 games in the last 3 years. Leo Chenal: 48 games Give me the dude that’s available everyday. #Science

@TheCowboysWire They restructured Malik Hooker earlier in the day, then signed Thompson. A third S at a premium price would signal an abrupt change in philosophy for a team that has de-valued the safety position for the last decade.

@rjochoa To me it would signal that they’re seriously locked in on the idea that they have a 3 year window with Dak. Jerry said he’d borrow from the future. He’s said things like that before, but we’ve never really seen serious moves to match it.

Let's assume the hypothetical price is palatable: What would the Cowboys trading for Maxx Crosby signal to you if it happened? That they are taking things more seriously than usual? That they are going all in or whatever other phrase you like? That they just like big moves?

@Marcus_Mosher I’m torn on this. The Rams have shown that draft picks can be traded to acquire proven talent, despite significant salary cap implications. And, it’s been said repeatedly that Dallas is looking at a 3 year window with Prescott. If they want to do something, they have to do it now

@VochLombardi Recent history tells us the Cowboys have not prioritized the safety position (2 draft picks in the last 10 years) - a handful of tier 2 free agents, and a bunch of UDFAs. Does a first year DC instantly change that philosophy? Is this the year they change the trend?

@VoiceOfTheStar Past/Present/Future at the S position, you mentioned Hooker (mid-tier FA), Wilson (6th rd pick), Thomas, Wood, Bell, and Clark (all UDFAs). I’ll say this on repeat - safety is a problem b/c safety has never been a priority.

The last three times that Dallas has had the 12th pick, they have selected Tyler Booker, Micah Parsons, and Alvin Harper. Let's keep that going, please.

@Marcus_Mosher I like 11. That’s the Michael Irvin/DeMarcus Ware draft slot.

The Cowboys currently sit at No. 13 in the draft order… A loss in Week 18 could potentially move up them up to No. 11….

@ZachWolchuk Wilson was a 6th round pick. Booker was a mid-tier FA. Bell, Thomas, and Clark were UDFAs. Kavon Frazier (6th round, 2016) and Xavier Woods (6th, 2017) are the only other safeties Dallas has drafted in the last decade. Safety is a problem because safety has never been a priority

@CJVogel_OTF Isn’t it an automatic touchback when a punt crosses the goal line? I thought the back judge should’ve blown it dead.

My understanding on the Deandre Moore punt return — Texas tried to get tricky. Niblett was originally the lone return man. Just before the ball was snapped, Moore ran back. My belief is that it was supposed to be a misdirection trick punt return with. Niblett immediately runs to his right before the ball is punted in attempt to take attention from the gunners. Play didn’t work. Poor decision from Moore to field the punt.
