A father is getting backlash for rescuing his 9-year-old daughter from her flooded school in Westernport, Maryland on Tuesday because rescuers were unable to get all the children to safety in a timely manner. So, while they were taking the kids out slowly, he went in and got his daughter before the building could collapse or be washed away. Some are saying he risked both of their lives as the flood could have turned deadly for both. Others say he's the father of the year. I think he took a calculated risk that worked out in his favor. I would have went in and got my daughters and not 100 men would have stopped me. Well done dad.

DO NOT use @TotalbyVerizon they have illegally refused to port my number to a new carrier. I’ve spent over 30 hours trying to get my phone number released and still getting nowhere. Don’t trust this company.

Three truths Christians believe that should be a constant source or happiness: (1) Our bad things will turn out for good (Rom 8:28) (2) The good things we have can never be taken away from us (Rom 8:29-31; 37-39) and (3) The best things are yet to come (Rom 8:18-21).

“There are only two kinds of people in the end: those who say to God, "Thy will be done," and those to whom God says, in the end, "Thy will be done." All that are in Hell, choose it....No soul that seriously and constantly desires joy will ever miss it." C.S. Lewis, Great Divorce

@timkellernyc Thank you for your scholarship, wisdom and gentleness as you share Christ centered truth my friend. I mostly appreciate your courage and kindness as you respond to those who differ while still sharing truth that, if embraced, brings freedom and joy

I've made the case that rejecting the Christian sex ethic of no-sex-outside-marriage is aligning with white, western individualism. Those surprised by this should read the case for it. See C. Taylor, Sources of the Self. buff.ly/3mGMPE2

I’d choose a church with a mediocre band in a run down building that makes people feel loved and wanted over a trendy church with a rock concert set that never learns your name...any day.

How we respond to failure reveals if our heart is motivated by fear and control or love and freedom. Does your world fall apart when you experience failure? This is not the end but an opportunity to humble ourselves and grow. When handled correctly failure always leads to upgrade

It's interesting that Jesus' followers first encountered him at a wedding, over a meal, visiting a friend and on a journey. #fishersofmen

Most do not realize that the idea of individual human rights came not from the Enlightenment but from 12th cent medieval Christian jurists and lawyers who believed in the image of God. (See the work of Brian Tierney and Tom Holland)

The fact there are still critics holding out in hopes that Georgia will suffer a grave second wave of Coronavirus so they can be “right” is exactly what’s wrong with us all right now.

Can someone explain to me how we can predict a death rate with any trustworthiness while we are ridiculously under-informed on the number of COVID-19 cases?
