@StonyOil You can analyze replay footage over and over but with Byfield coming down the left hand side as a left hand shot, I would have done the same thing. This was a perfect shot to go far post there. Most times they’d go short side in this play. If it were a righty, I’d agree with you.

I feel like I’m going insane.. The only deception is Byfield looking back door.. not only does Stu not get set he’s deep and sliding away from the most dangerous option.. This is a nothing shot if he just gets set

@wyshynski The analytics supporting your narrative are deep cuts.. B-Side tracks if you will. The hits are wins, GAA and save percentage. Once you go deeper into it than that, you could make an argument for many other goalies. The easiest way to do it is by the standard measurements.

Binnington was 3rd in the NHL in goals saved above expected behind Hellebuyck and Demko. He was 6th in save percentage vs. expected. He was 2nd in save percentage on scoring chances. Bob isn't even in the conversation analytically with Binnington, but he does have more wins.
