I know many Mets fans are pissed about this and feel crushed and today sucks for many...but paying a defensive liability higher than any 1st baseman ever just wasn't happening. Good for him for getting the bag he has wanted for a while. Hell of a run in Queens but it's clear Stearns & Mets want to move on from the core that didn't win anything and get a new group of players & personalities here. Stearns 100% has the target on his back now...but he's got the $$ and resources to put together the guys he feels will make this team win.
