@Jackelot

I love and work with books and am obsessed with Margaret Hamilton and Nick Rhodes, funny you never see the two of them in the same room at the same time...

@LBC @AndrewMarr9 Marr said Starmer would be gone by the end of the week, did he forget that? Starmer should be angry because hacks like Marr are playing with our lives! Also the poles are all saying Reform will win - the election is 2029 😂 gives him some wriggle room. Marr is spent…

"Keir Starmer looked me in the eye, quite angrily, and said, 'I'm going to prove you wrong'." @AndrewMarr9 says the PM is 'more determined', but stands firm in his prediction that we are 'heading towards' a Reform government.

@LBC Predicted Johnson and Truss, my cat predicted both earlier and with better accuracy! Andrew Marr gets good guests because of his historic reputation but he’s just coasting and has zero interest in challenging his guests and of course doesn’t take calls.

Andrew Marr has a bit of history... 5 Jul 2022: Predicts the end of Boris Johnson. 7 Jul 2022: Johnson resigns. 14 Oct 2022: Predicts the end of Liz Truss. 20 Oct 2022: Truss resigns. 8 Feb 2026: Says Starmer will resign in the ‘next few days’. Will he be proven right again?

@meiriontodd @Lachlan_Edi I totally agree, I ❤️ Spain, I felt so sorry for them. I have to say I also like Finland’s performance, it could have gone so wrong and it did make me cackle. I decided not to watch any of the build up/press so I could make up my own mind and I thought the top 2 were spot on!

@Lachlan_Edi Loved Switzerland, Croatia, Portugal, France & Armenia, poor Spain was robbed - Zorra, Zorra! - UK almost always Euro tone deaf, Sam Ryder a notable exception 🙌

My prediction to win, Croatia, came second. Israel boosted into 5th place by a HUGE public vote. UK dragged into the bottom half by tonight's only 'nul points', from either juries or public. Switzerland maybe the weakest winner ever.

@DMTWestEnd I’ve queued for two and a half hours, got the email to go back and was told my queue number had been used, it was not used! I’ve been to to rejoin from the begging?? This is so disappointing…

@lewis_goodall Will she still have a voice if she loses her seat? I know she has a significant majority but surely the people of SW Norfolk have had enough her narcissism.

Nonetheless it's clear that so much of what's happening within the Conservative Party right now is about what happens after the election, likely in opposition. Right now Truss is likely to be a far more influential voice within the Tory party after 2024 than Sunak will be.

Two things can be true at once 1) Interest rates were always going to rise as inflation bit and monetary policy around the world was tightened. 2) That was exactly the worst moment to spook the markets, which is what happened as a result of govt policy/communication failings.
