I train at one of, if not the most serious boxing gyms in NYC and NONE of the pros watched Jake Paul's last fight. I was laughed at for asking! 100% watched Crawford/Spence.  In some regards I don't think Jake Paul will ever be taken seriously by actual boxers simply because he side stepped the traditional path of the come up (amateurs, training from a young age, using boxing to get a platform, etc.) With that said, I believe him knocking out Nate Robinson in November, 2020 is among the most iconic and important moments of the century. Maybe not for boxing, but for the media landscape, celebrity culture and the new paradigm we're all in. He took out the status quo in a PROFOUND way. Will be thinking deeply about this…

@SamFuhrer The mark of a serious boxer should be what level he fights at not how good or bad he is at marketing. Ali and Tyson were excellent marketers. Ur argument sounds more like “to be a real boxer u have to take forever and be bad at marketing”. How does one negate the Tommy fury fight

Ehh, maybe to some extent but I don't think that's it. I'm sure they'd all fight him for the opportunity and $$ and would admit they can learn from him as a marketer, but ultimately he's playing a different game than they are. Most of this is about time. It's hard to cram in three years all in the public eye while we're all still trying to process his larger than life cartoonish persona. I would bet on Paul succeeding in whatever he does, I just think, as of right now, he still hasn't made the leap into serious boxer. I don't know that he ever will or if he truly wants to. There's WAY more $$ in doing what he's doing. Those who know the sport know this is something slightly different happening. Can't get over how interesting this formula is though. Young up and comer who is not taken seriously challenges a household name, wins, and continues the process. Machine Gun Kelly tried it with Eminem and it didn't go as planned but he seemed to pivot with the hype it brought. All just interesting.

I will work with anyone on ideas to provide more breathing room for American families. And I will oppose any effort to undo my agenda or make inflation worse. We are on the right path, and we need to keep moving forward to build an economy from the bottom up and the middle out.
