@jackrippners Why do you all think that Tommy was allowed to live free after all the people he's killed? He's a character that doesn't deserve a happy ending and death is the best ending he was going to get. The fact he died by his own choice (giving Duke the job) WAS the good ending.

i don’t like that they gave tommy freedom at the end of the series just to kill him in the movie.

@jackrippners There are as many opinions as there are people. Sadly, Paul Anderson's personal issues kept him from being part of the story. Knight/Murphy wrote an ending that reflected how Tommy carried every ones burdens while suffering the same addictions/PTSD which he could no longer do.

@mosaisms not overthinking when this is a basic plot point and fucks up the entire dynamic (because arthur is the oldest of 3 who all went to war, the youngest of which has 4 kids by the time he goes)

i’m vaguely glad they made the movie; i’m not glad they killed him off at the end. not just because i love him, but because it seems pointless to go to all that just to reach the end we all knew was coming

was death inevitable for him? yes! but if you were gonna kill him they should’ve done it to close the series. he should have died on his own terms, after realising the whole doctor plot. not at the end of a money-grabbing movie.
