I don’t think I’ll ever get over how well Perth portrayed the difference between the stress response of a school aged Pobmek and an adult Pobmek. In the past he instantly went into a freeze mode, all shaky and scared. But after living away from toxic parents, opening up to Solar and gaining some autonomy, he chose to speak up and fight. Not saying that either of these responses is right or wrong, but I just love how well he portrayed both #LoveYouTeacherSeriesEP6

I knew Perth is a very talented actor but delivering this scene in a single take??? Speechless 👏🏻👏🏻 P’Dome got asked which was his favourite scene from EP6: 🎺: Personally, it would be the scene where Pobmek plays the guitar at the event, and then his mom shows up and smashes the guitar. Believe it or not, that was one of the very first scenes we shot. 🎺: I already liked it since the script stage, but when we got on set, Perth delivered exactly what I was hoping for. I already had certain expectations because I knew drama really suits him but I didn’t know exactly which direction he would take it. 🎺: And honestly, this is just my nature, I don’t really like directing heavy drama scenes. That’s the truth. It takes a lot of emotional energy. I also don’t like watching people cry that much, it’s just not something I enjoy, sitting there at the monitor watching someone break down. 🎺: So I try to protect the actors emotionally. I’ll say, “This is what I’m aiming for, how do you want to approach it? Let’s talk it through.” The goal is to get the emotion without needing many takes, because drama is exhausting. I try to preserve both their energy and their emotional state. 🎺: So we’d experiment a bit - try it this way, feel it like this, use this tone. Even though in that scene there’s no dialogue at all, the challenge is how to make the audience understand and immediately feel empathy for Pobmek. Having no dialogue at all makes it harder. The whole scene is just him singing, then the mom comes in, says nothing, and everything relies on his reaction to her actions. 🎺: And Perth did it beautifully - it was really impressive. We even filmed it in one take. By that I mean each camera setup (close shots, wide shots) was done just once each. Since multiple angles are needed, it means the actor would normally have to cry multiple times. So if we’re clear and confident in what we want, we just go for it precisely. That way the actor doesn’t get exhausted from repeatedly putting themselves into that emotional state. It takes a lot of energy. So we made sure we were aligned, had a clear picture, talked it through and then boom, one take. 🎺: The whole crew applauded. I loved it. Then we moved on to shooting the wide shots and so on #LoveYouTeacherSeriesEP6 #PerthSanta

and solar understands him without even trying..he loves him like it’s breathing or something even easier he sees every glimpse of pobmek being scared or uncomfortable and he is always there to support the love of his life #LoveYouTeacherSeriesEP6

this entire ep felt like the highest level of ragebait 💀 the parent who discourages and humiliates you for your choices even in your adulthood but still feels entitled to being a part of your life hits a little too close to home 🚶🚶
