I spent $2 million dollars and 18 months becoming the King of Cat Poo 💩 Flash forward to today, and I've sold over $20 million dollars of my cat litter. Here's the true story of how my frustration over my cat's disgusting litter box turned into a $30-million dollar biz...

@herrmanndigital @dtcprophet Do you give any additional prompt for the static creation? Or just say "make a static ad for X brand using this headline". The headlines I got seem a bit generic so I'm wondering about the quality of what I'd get

Here is something easy to do that doesn't require switching AI platforms for creative that works in DTC right now. Some of my best performing creative has come from doing the following over the last few months: 1. Uploading my top spending creatives to Google's Gemini. I upload the video, plus the data including thumb stop / hold / ctr / cpc / cvr / cpa / roas. In addition I give a blurb on what type of creative this is: brand unaware / problem unaware / brand aware / problem aware etc. 2. I tell it to give me the reasons why it thinks this video is performing well. I ask for it to give me detailed explanation why it would be resonating, etc. This prompt usually changes based on what I'm trying to do. 3. From there once it spits out a long explanation I review it and it I feel it's solid I then ask for it to help develop key headlines that would work based on it's explanation of why this video worked. 4. It'll usually spit out 4-5 solid headlines that I tweak slightly. I then grab a sub-headline too. 5. I think take those headlines + sub-headlines throw them into whatever AI image software you like and overlay them on top of imagery that performs well for the brands. So far and again this is last few months these are some of the top performing creatives in the account with the lowest CPMr and higher CVR while scaling. I'm now going deeper on these and taking the winners, throwing them back into Gemini and repeating with the statics and having Gemini repeat the cycle.

Super excited to announce today that we closed our 4M Series A for tuft + paw with a minority stake from Companion Fund, a venture capital fund run by Digitalis Ventures in Partnership with Mars. It's an exceptionally difficult environment to raise money right now for CPG brands. As one investor put it, "you could be pissing gold coins right now and investors would question if gold coins are worth anything." When most people hear “Mars” they think of chocolate, but Mars has been a leader in the pet care category for 90 years and their pet care businesses now account for 60% of their business. They were one of the earliest brands in the pet space, acquiring Chapel Brothers pet food in the UK in 1935 at a time when the idea of serving your pets dedicated pet food (versus table scraps) was extremely novel. Mars is obviously a huge brand, but once upon a time, it was a single founder obsessed with developing an amazing product and running a scrappy startup. Together Mars and Digitalis Ventures invest in great ideas for advancing animal health at scale. I am SO excited for this next chapter and feel proud to be in such good company. We're a completely independent brand, but their support will help us continue building toward our vision of being the most innovative brand for cats and cat people 🐈

So, if you feel my pain. If you know the feeling of scraping a stinky clump of cat poo from the bottom of your foot en route to bed. Then it's time we get to know one another. Go check out our litter at your local PetSmart next month.
