@knoxtwts i find the hardest part in actually building in those industries is the effort that goes into forming relationships with the business owners and convincing them they should change their was

the businesses that print real money are never in the hype.
ai is on every screen right now. every coffee shop has 3 people building ai wrappers. every podcast host is sponsored by an ai tool. tiktok is 40% ai content.
the businesses that made actual money in ai were the operators doing it in 2021 when nobody could spell large language model.
right now, what's nobody hyped about?
>boring b2b infrastructure for industries with no internet presence (waste management, hvac scheduling, regional construction)
>regulated industries everyone's afraid to touch (insurance, healthcare admin, municipal services)
>multi-generational household economics (grandparent care, family financial planning, generational wealth tools)
every one of those rooms is a blue ocean. every one will have $50m+ operators inside 24 months. zero hype right now.
if everybody's already excited, you missed it by 18 months. the rooms with no hype are where the next decade gets built.

I used to swallow my real thoughts just to keep the peace.
Lately though, I’ve been shifting how I handle tough conversations. Instead of obsessing over whether the other person might feel uncomfortable or hurt, I’m saying what I actually want or feel.
It’s not “zero f*cks given”, I still fully respect their opinion and response. But I’m also respecting mine.
And the more I do it, the more confident I feel in my own thoughts.

@heygeorgekal Usually have between 3-5 active workspaces, sometimes with a few agents in each.
That's already starting to push what I can keep track of though tbh
English

@raroque oh interesting, would be super curious to hear how that works for you in terms of balancing design consistency between them and also deployment pain points
English

@jackthinkz haven’t said this publicly but I’m using RN for the android builds I’m working on 👀

@Shpigford Was running into this same issue trying to go from conductor to codex to test it out
Haven't gotten a good working solution here yet though
English

@RhysSullivan Also elegant, evokes a conductor standing at the center, but there are many individual parts that are equally important

Day 6 of building in public:
Thought I found a niche: AI tools for restaurant owners.
This morning I rushed a new MVP feature after someone suggested:
“Use AI to generate short promo videos for local businesses.”
By afternoon, I was out doing cold outreach with:
→ AI poster generation
→ AI food image generation
→ AI short-form video generation
Reality hit fast:
Big platforms already own the space
Meituan and restaurant SaaS platforms already bundle AI features into existing subscriptions.
Owners asked:
“I already pay for that. Why install another app?”
Free beats better
My output looked better.
They still preferred free tools like Doubao.
For non-designers:
Free > quality
Unit economics killed it
10-second AI videos cost me ~$1.4 each to generate.
Owners loved the result.
Then heard the price and immediately said no.
Demand is too infrequent
Better menu photos are nice...
but restaurants update them once every year or two.
Hard to build recurring revenue.
Biggest lesson:
Don’t sell tools.
Sell outcomes.
Restaurant owners don’t care about AI.
They care about:
more orders
better rankings
more revenue
Might be another dead end.
But talking to users in the real world saved me months of building.
Back to searching.

@Shpigford @conductor_build where do you see this usage? so curious what mine is now
English

and before anyone starts yelling about 🦞 or any other personal ai or sessions running 24/7...this is just me using @conductor_build.
i'm just extremely prolific, generally running 3-8 active worktrees across a dozen projects some 10-12 hours a day.
i'm *very* hands-on.
