The production and accumulation of aberrant proteins can have serious pathological consequences. In a new #ScienceReview, researchers explore how organisms maintain the extracellular proteome. How amazing it is to see CD24+ adult kidney stem / progenitor cells highly regenerating and developing in 3D culture system.

This Confocal Video displays the multiple renal tubules are gradually wrapped inside CD24+ adult human kidney organoid, which made by Yaoxian Xu and Rafael Kramann at Faculty of Medicine, RWTH Aachen University. Green is for epithelial cell marker E-cadherin(CDH1), blue is DAPI.

This confocal video clearly displayed cilia development in CD24+ derived adult human kidney organoid, which made by Yaoxian Xu and Rafael Kramann at Faculty of Medicine, RWTH Aachen University. The green represents renal cilia, red is Na+/K+ ATPase, blue for DAPI.

Interestingly, the confocal image looks like human head side view by CD24 and DAPI staining, multiple renal tubules are wrapped inside. Artistic cysts show polycystic disease. the broken DNA fragment represents paired gene editing in human PKD1 or PKD2.
