@JDRodriguezIII1 My buddy @jacobrestituto says the SAME thing yesterday. He’s in New York, so odds are higher I should probably have the next experience w/u. It out of my comfort zone, but I’m up for it! Here’s what Jacob sent me yesterday…

Just remembered @FredsDaily still needs to squeeze in a hunting trip in his busy schedule.

My theory is that the decline in patriotism is directly related to the decline of great, uplifting architecture and public spaces. Even companies and rich people felt a sense of belonging and patriotism for their country; building great things for their communities and fellow countrymen used to be a point of pride for them. Or at the very least, a way to make a lasting legacy for themselves. They still made plenty of money, of course. But making money wasn't the sole objective. Now, nobody cares about their communities, much less the country at-large. Everyone has become deeply cynical and is in it for themselves. If architecture and public projects are nothing more than utilities being built to sustain a profit-maximizing business, then why wouldn't they be designed and built as cheaply and basic-looking as possible? If it performs the intended function and generates a cash flow, then it's "mission accomplished" and on to the next thing. Even the general public doesn't really demand anything more than the bare minimum, because they themselves are not engaged enough to care. The vibrancy and optimism that used to be defining traits of America have, unfortunately, been snuffed out by greed and post-modernist ideology. The greedy rich class will blame the post-modernists, and the post-modernists will blame the greedy; in reality they have both destroyed this country in their own ways.
