A former audit executive, Hein Odendaal, has been sentenced to a R2 million fine or four years in prison for failing to report fraud that resulted in a R200 billion loss on the JSE, devastating pension funds and collapsing retirement savings of ordinary South Africans. The arithmetic of South Africa's white-collar justice system is stark: a R200 billion loss corresponds to a R2 million fine. Notably, the pensioners who lost their retirement savings in the Steinhoff collapse lost more than R2 million, with many losing everything. The auditor responsible for detecting such fraud has received a fine smaller than the losses incurred by some individuals in a single day. While five convictions mark progress, the question remains whether the sentence fits the crime??

Kill the Boer is indeed hate speech, because it targets a group of people based on their ethnicity and calls for violence to be inflicted upon them. It doesn't matter what the courts say.

If the private sector was in charge of the import of F&M vaccines on 21 February and 1 March, it would have been paid for by now, so that the next order could have been made
