@jadeix27 I appreciate the difference in opinion. I really like some of the concepts outlined by larger comment. This may lack context - please feel free to ask me any questions you have on terms you don’t understand. Or in general. Love.

@jadeix27 Something closer to disgust? Yes it’s very easy to feel disgust. Loathing is more like a fire. But like in a Zoroastrian way. Like a spiritual thing that purifies you, but that still has power. I’m making the link to Zoroastrianism v tentatively tho lol.

@cloudgulper rn i honestly cant think of any other way to get out of that, yk,, bc (imo) i dont think there could be any other stronger emotion to combat such strong hate except for more hate of that hate (n ur totally right tht sounds so redundant bt at the same time makes sense? 😭😭)

@jadeix27 I wonder, could you reflectively loathe the fact that you hate yourself? Loathe that you fall into hating yourself. It sounds paradoxical but perhaps it is something that could work. Interesting idea.

@cloudgulper made me realize that i havent been thinking of loathing, ive js been imagining a simple distaste with the way u act tht wouldnt ignite lasting emotions

@cloudgulper this makes so much sense actually, bc going back into those old tendencies you despised would only bring about those emotions you felt when u acknowledged their flawed nature

@cloudgulper mm ok so its kinda like once you fully acknowledge your faults, youll be able to clear the path to becoming the person you want to become?

@jadeix27 It is only through loathing those parts of myself, so heavily. Really lamenting. I remember leaving a bath and the shower was on while the water drained once I just cried, so much, out of shame and self loathing for who I’d been. I hadn’t hurt anyone but internally I had

@cloudgulper based off the tt alone i think i see what they mean and agree? i dont believe in senseless self hatred n sabotage, but acknowledging one did sumn deserving of hate usually redirects hate bck to themselves (which isny inherently bad bc it requires the initial acknowledgment)

@jadeix27 Was a big fan of tik tok posts when my eyes were good I feel like they can be incredibly little things when done right. Such an interesting technology. My top 5 includes one of this wider conversation Morison has. I will get the for you along with a YouTube link if u r interested

@cloudgulper do u agree w what morrison said in the sense of scrubbing the soul instead of self, or do you find any kind of reflective loathing wrong (im #curious)

@jadeix27 More generally some writers like Toni Morrison have spoken about self loathing as being a good thing. I don’t know if that aligns with how I feel- just as i don’t really fully believe in the idea of a ‘self’ but I suppose it can be a way of scrubbing the soul.

@jadeix27 Nothing ! It’s a self destructive behaviour. But it’s very easy to want it. If you hate yourself then it’s easier to detach yourself from any responsibility from your actions or to try and endure what you feel now.
