I am writing this to share how appalled i am that @clbc_connect is cutting funding to Curiko.ca. Curiko is all about giving back to community and helping disabled people create genuine connections in community, that is what you are supposed to stand for!

@Guruelous We’re a good ass team and our finishing is at the very least average on the season. We had a tough night yesterday but taking that as a sign of the biggest problem this team needs fixed is naïve at best

Exceptional finishing is way overvalued by fans because if the rest of your game is absent you’re not actually that useful. Daniel Sprong scores goals but nobody ever wants to keep him and there’s a reason for that.

From a value and diversification perspective, you’re much better off trying to create as many looks as possible and rely on the players who got you there to capitalize on the generated chances. Posts and crossbars are annoying but it is literally sometimes just down to luck.

i know another guy who has gone to war for this team, gives it his all every shift, sets the tone, never makes excuses, never quits, and has been the heart and soul of this team on and off the ice.

my biggest gripe with brady is he used to be a tone setter, he would go out there and set a precedent that u played hard, and the other guys followed, now he just goes out there and coasts around

The Senators have the 10th best finishing at 5v5 and 8th best finishing in all situations (+ 6.65 and + 6.97 respectively).
They've allowed 28.48 goals above expected in all situations. 2nd worst is Vegas at 17.61.
The gap between Ottawa and Vegas is almost the same as the gap between Vegas and Nashville.
Nashville is 10th in goals allowed above expected
It's their goaltending that's the issue. Yesterday Ottawa couldn't finish, but that hasn't been a season long trend.
The only real issue I'm seeing at forward for yall is Brady Tkachuk. He's coasting around, not helping with the transition, and has always been a poor finisher, and as a result has -5.5 goals above expected.

“We should just get a player that will magically score goals and then everybody will be happy” is a beautiful idea but when has that ever happened? And the bottom line is, a finishing winger does not improve your goaltending.

I’m guilty of this myself but “this team just needs a sniper” is such a lazy argument because more often than not it just means a player that can create goals from nothing. Like yes, obviously your team would be better with it. But nobody mentions how rare bona fide snipers are.
