If I choose Composer 2 to do my work, it makes sense to use another Composer instance to do subagent work. If I'm selecting Opus, it does not make sense to switch for a different model that will make suboptimal decisions on important tasks and ultimately using an expensive model, Opus, just to aggregate results. As a user, I just don't find it transparent nor beneficial.

Cursor is silently routing most Opus usage to Composer and background workers. I find this somewhat unethical. The tool is not respecting the users. If they want us to use their models or infra, they should make them better than their competitors.
