@updemblades24 Played less mins for wolves since joining them than he did for us in 1 season, a season where he was second choice to Norwood. Decent player, remembered fondly for a big goal but not worth 10 million and not worth losing sleep over.
English

That is a ridiculous signing by Birmingham. Any Blade that says he wouldn’t get in our midfield are absolute deluded - he’d have been the first name on the team sheet for me

Thoughts and comments on the signing please Blues fans.

@pjridders Both goals 100% on Robinson, first one loses his man, they win the header. Second, burrows loses his duel, fair, but what is Robinson doing? He presses in and leaves Saito through on goal. Same thing against Harrogate pre season and then goal against Rotherham his mistake too.
English

@KMC_1889 @CurtMangnall They were all in the last year of their deals which has now expired. We don’t have to pay players whose contracts have expired so aren’t committing to any future cost. We have to pay Moore, O’hare, Shackleton, Burrows, etc for the next 3/4 years regardless of league we’re in
English

@jake21062844 @CurtMangnall Yeah we’be defo offloaded kids like Basham (35), Egan (32), Norwood (33), Foderingham (32) and McBurnie (29). Those together will be on way more than the players we’ve just signed before you account for the others.
English

Sheffield United splashing the cash again, so boring having the same clubs going up and down every season. Parachute payments really are a joke, gives teams like Sheffield United and Burnley a huge advantage!
English

@CurtMangnall @FoxyJ934 Yeah maybe not splashed but definitely reinvesting heavily, but we needed to, can’t lose 19 players and not replace them. Agree with what your saying though 👍
English

@jake21062844 @FoxyJ934 We’ve also accrued a good set of transfer fees and lost a lot of players that were on healthy wages for this level.
Yes we’ve brought in some very good players on high wages for this level but we’ve definitely not splashed the cash that’s over exaggerating it.
English

@CurtMangnall @FoxyJ934 Sorry did mate misinterpreted it, just sick of seen fans go at club when we’re clearly trying to spend and have a go at it. Not gonna complain though we will have strong squad by end of the window.
English

@jake21062844 @FoxyJ934 That’s not what this post was😂
Gone looking for an argument when you’ve mis interpreted what I’m getting at.
We certainly haven’t been ‘splashing the cash’ as the OP claimed.
English

@CurtMangnall @FoxyJ934 Fair mate, would say we have tbf though transfer fees been moderate but definitely spending on wages, sign on and loan fees. More loans and probably a perm or 2 to come yet as well. Decent to say we’ve not really sold sold any key squad players (maybe Osula). Will be very strong.
English

@jake21062844 @FoxyJ934 I wasn’t digging the club if that’s what you’ve took this as.
I’m simply responding to claims of ‘splashing the cash’ that’s utter 💩
English

@FoxyJ934 @CurtMangnall We may not have parachutes in 2 years so we have to be sensible. We’ve paid moderate fees, sign ons for free agents and given long term deals on high end champ wages. People acting like we’re not spending because they see 20 mil come in and only 6 mil go on fees is mental
English

@jake21062844 @CurtMangnall Won’t be anywhere close to £20m. A player on £28k P/W (our highest earner in PL last season) earns just under £1.5m per year. Bogle wages write off Shackletons. I reckon we’ve got an extra £5m in wages but then factor in we lost 19 players most of them experienced on high wages
English

@scottkeira13 @GarethLivesey95 Think people forget majority of cost isn’t transfer fees, all our signings will be on high wages on long terms deals. We’ve probably committed to 20m+ In just wages, then also fees signing bonuses on our signings so far with more to come in, we are spending a lot of money
English

@GarethLivesey95 Splashing the cash 😂😂😂 we’ve spent 4-6mil at best. We’ve got rid of some of our highest earners and replaced them. We have 6 players in and 19 players out. 😓
English

@ajbutb @sufcdan12 Yeah not fault of club though tbf, unfortunate and we will have to move on, am sure we will have a back up. Understand frustration but don’t see how people can blame the club for it.
English

@skibumg @sufcdan12 Struggle to see how that’s clubs fault? If hoever has a failed medical, that’s not on the club and we will have to go for whoever is next on the list. 2 1st team right backs and an understudy is pretty sound recruitment
English

@GironaExpat He’s not been perfect and the prince would probably admit that. But we’re a pretty established top half championship team that can flirt with the prem. He will leave us much stronger than when he came in. Grass will always be greener unless you’re Man City.
English

@GironaExpat People losing their minds atm, include ndiaye and that’s 30m ish for academy grads in the last few years. Key players atm on 3/4yr deals, Investing in clubs infrastructure for the future. Compare that to 7/8 years ago. It’s a long term process and we’re getting there.
English

The striker conveyor belt continues.
DCL, Lankshear, Jebbo, Osula, Marsh, Oné
Usually an academy struggles to uncover a striker more than once in a decade.
Sheffield United Development@sufcdevelopment
Promising forward Ryan Oné has committed his long-term future to the club by signing a new deal through to 2029. ✍️ 🏴
English

@smithdsheffield @The_Bladesman @dannyhall04 We say we want 10 mil and they’re happy to and can afford to pay it. of course a deal will happen quickly. We could go get cooper tomorrow from Plymouth for 5m if we wanted but we don’t have the joy of being able to throw money around, we need to be smart and spend sensibly
English

@The_Bladesman @dannyhall04 Isn't it amazing how quickly we can sell a player.... but when it comes to buying or getting a loan in???!!!
English

Will Osula was attracting interest from Sturm Graz + Norwich City before Newcastle United met the Blades' asking price for the Dane. The transfer has accelerated quickly and only personal terms need to be agreed before the deal is completed.
