@JamieMoranUK I was hoping starfield would have close to the same impact mass effect had but its clear it did not. Maybe we'll get another game or even series that can be close to it

“Do the math.” Ok. -Average cow: 1,200 lbs -Hanging weight: 750 lbs -Actual meat yield: 500 lbs If you turn 500 lbs into hamburger, that’s 2,000 quarter-pounders. So 1 cow = 2,000 burgers. 6,300,000 ÷ 2,000 = 3,150 cows per day — not millions. And that’s not even addressing the fact that most McDonald’s burgers have less than ¼ lb of beef. My father-in-law raised 750 head of cattle at a time by himself. One man. Just because you don’t understand something, and lack basic math skills doesn’t mean there’s a conspiracy.
redpillbot@redpillb0t

"McDonald's sells 6.5 million burgers in one single day." "Do the math. Even if you stretched one cow into a bunch of burgers, you're still talking millions of cows just to keep up." "Where are all these cows coming from?" "What the hell are we eating? Because if it ain't cows, then what is it?"

@SCHIZO_FREQ Bought my car on Carvana, didn't talk to a single salesman and did it all online. Got it delivered to my house too. Carvana even gives you a week to test drive and do an exchange/return. This is the way

Biggest "the kids are fucked" moment I've had recently was buying a car Walked into the dealership, told them what I wanted and said I'd pay up-front. Expected them to be thrilled Instead they were horrified. Spent the next 20 minutes trying to get me to finance it at some absurd rate Got me curious so after I left I read about car sale profit models. Apparently most US dealerships make more financing now than from the cars themselves I was such a boomer I assumed they'd want CASH In reality they want your ETERNAL SLAVERY at 19% APR

@desertatomic @financedystop Couldn't I just do it myself with the guidance of AI? It would tell what part to order, how to replace it, what to screw/unscrew, etc. This quite literally let's me bypass the entire HVAC service.

@financedystop Sounds like people are missing the point. Why would I hire a tech when I can do it myself with the help of an AI? This empowers homeowners to do guided DIY

@StockMKTNewz A lot of golden handcuffs. The ones who got a low rate AND a forever home are lucky. The ones who had a starter home turn into their forever home, not so much.

@steverose2012 @Holden_Culotta I'm a Software Engineer (26 y/o). I love what I do but also would love doing trade work, but it simply doesn't pay enough compared to what I'm making now to make any sense. If they want people to work these trades, they need to start paying better and treating them better.

I’m trying to be a software engineer man. I worked 15 years as a young working man. 6ft 200 pounds I worked 14 hour days for years only to be screwed over by greed. It’s good to be in shape and use your hands but FAR too many of these jobs UNDER PAY. That means they DONT value you. So this = if you accept that life- YOU DONT VALUE YOU. Pffffff. Scam.

Mike Rowe: “For every five tradespeople that retire this year, two replace them.” “It’s been that way for 12 years.” “I don’t need to be a mathematician, this is bad arithmetic.” “7.2 million able-bodied men today, in their prime working years, are not only unemployed … they’re not even looking.” “What are they doing?” “2,000 hours a year, on average, on screens.” “I got a call from a company called BlueForge Alliance … in charge of something called the maritime industrial base.” “The maritime industrial base consists of 15,000 individual companies, all of whom are tasked with delivering thermonuclear-powered submarines to the US Navy—three a year, two Virginia-class, one Columbia.” “BlueForge Alliance calls me and they say, we need to hire some tradespeople, and we were wondering if you and your foundation could help.” “I said, I’ll try, as you probably learned, it’s pretty skinny out there … how many do you need?” “They said 100,000.” “100,000 tradespeople for one industry that most people don’t even think about.” “They said, we’ve looked everywhere … do you know where they are?” “I said, yeah I do, they’re in the eighth grade.” “That’s 100,000 building submarines. There’s 80,000 in the automotive industry alone for technicians. Right now … 80,000 openings.” “You start to go down the list and you begin to realize our workforce is wildly out of balance.” @mikeroweworks @momsforamerica

@grok @ChrisJZullo @tatereeves New Hampshire has no income tax, no sales tax and no interest & dividends tax. It’s the safest state in the country, #1 for taxpayer ROI, and the freest state in the USA. We’re still winning. 🇺🇸

We did it, Mississippi! We just eliminated the income tax! Today is a day that will be remembered — not just for the headlines, not just for the politics, but for the profound, generational change it represents. Today, I was proud to sign into law a complete elimination of the individual income tax in the state of Mississippi. Let me say that again: Mississippi will no longer tax the work, the earnings, or the ambition of its people. This is more than a policy victory. This is a transformation. And it’s a transformation that I have believed in, fought for, and worked toward for many years. From my days as lieutenant governor to my first campaign for this office — and every legislative session since — I have made this my mission. Because I believe in a simple idea: that government should take less so that you can keep more. That our people should be rewarded for hard work, not punished. And that Mississippi has the potential to be a magnet for opportunity, for investment, for talent — and for families looking to build a better life. The legislation I signed puts us in a rare class of elite, competitive states. There are only a handful of states in the country that do not tax income. Today, Mississippi joins their ranks — and in doing so, we plant our flag. We are saying to job creators across America: if you want to build, come to Mississippi. We are saying to families across the South: if you want to grow, come to Mississippi. We are saying to entrepreneurs, to workers, to dreamers: Mississippi is open for business — and we won’t penalize your success. We are going to compete — and we’re going to win. Now, I want to be clear: this didn’t happen overnight. And it didn’t happen alone. This day is the result of years of work by dedicated leaders who shared the vision and had the courage to act. I want to thank Speaker Jason White and Lieutenant Governor Delbert Hosemann. I want to give special thanks to Speaker White because he worked his tail off to get this done. I also want to thank House Ways and Means Chairman Trey Lamar and all the members of the House and Senate who rolled up their sleeves and got this done. We debated. We negotiated. We stayed focused on the goal. And we got it across the finish line — together. To the people of Mississippi: you are the real winners today. This law means more money in your pocket. It means more jobs in your town. It means a future with more opportunity for your children and grandchildren. The work of your hands belongs to you. It is yours — to feed your family and invest in your home and your community. Because that’s what this is ultimately about. Not just numbers on a balance sheet, but lives. Generations from now, when our kids are raising families of their own in a stronger, more prosperous Mississippi, they will look back on this moment and say: this is when we took our shot. This is when we bet on ourselves. This is when we really broke from the pack. This is when we took bold action — and it paid off. There are moments in a state’s history that mark a turning point. A moment where the past gives way to the future. Where we rise above the old ways of doing things — and chart a bold new course… this is one of those moments. The elimination of the income tax is not just a win for our economy. It’s a win for freedom. A win for families. A win for the idea that Mississippi can lead — that we will lead — in the century to come. And I believe with all my heart that we will look back on this day as a turning point, a generational victory, and a proud legacy we leave for those who come after us.
