@WoodinRivers Is this worse than the biraderi/labour pact that kept inner city Birmingham red via a dispatch of women’s postal votes?

There is literally ONE woman in this entire room. And she's one of the candidates endorsed by the Independent Alliance. In 12 or so campaign videos I've not seen another woman. I don't understand why no journalist spotted or gently questioned this aspect of their campaign.

@AlyssonSZN You know what a political party is right? It’s a brand. People don’t have time to understand issues deeply so they go by the values associated with the brand. You want to do good work, don’t associate yourself with a toxic brand. This is why Gaza matters in Birmingham.

@OldStationSt @FilmAtWolves Respectfully, your tweet is a plea for others to compromise their integrity (hold your nose etc.). Think about it a bit.

Save Station Street, Birmingham
We're making a plea today before the local elections. Please vote and vote smart. Even if it means holding yr nose. Nothing good will come of handing the keys of Birmingham to the very far-right and/or those promoting sectarian division in our city. change.org/p/designate-bi…

@mcdermottkc_ Absolutely right. Terrible inheritance for Starmer, a huge workload and Trump in the White House. He’s approached it all with determination and integrity and needs to be given a chance. His stance around the attacks on Iran exemplary.

I have never met Keir Starmer (as far as I am aware) but I know a good number of people who know him well. My impression is of someone who is in politics for the right reasons … essentially to improve life for others. He doesn’t get everything right … 1/

@SekuruKeith @mcdermottkc_ In that case I have to say I agree with him. If some one attacks your country they do not have the right to expect you to carry on supplying electricity and water to you.

@RichParkerLab "The local elections this Thursday reinforce what Labour councillors, working with a Labour government, have already been delivering" I think that's what people are trying to vote against Richard.

New train stations, more homes, millions for high streets, and opportunities for young people. The local elections this Thursday reinforce what Labour councillors, working with a Labour government, have already been delivering. Don’t risk this progress. Let’s keep going forwards!

I blame this on UX being taken away from designers and handed to hub-spot wielding midwit execs. Everything becomes a landing page. Everyone is optimizing for customer acquisition over customer success. No one cares because the customers have nowhere else to go.
Jake Grimley@jakegrimley

LinkedIn UX really sucks for getting anything done, or trying to use the services they want you to pay for. They are so focused on upsell CTAs you can't actually use the product. I've posted a Job, I want to review applications. How do you think I do that?

BTW trying to use Business services on X, such as Ads is pretty much the same. They probably hired a truck load of LinkedIn people.

Trying to use any paid business function on LinkedIn is like this. All of their UX leads down blind-alleys. Which is a shame, because since the enshittification of X (which I still think is much better, despite everything) all business attention has moved there.

This month I handed in a petition at Full Council to the transport department, asking that they speed up delivery of the Low Traffic Neighbourhood in Moseley and Kings Heath.

@RichParkerLab Even no-mark centrist-apparatchik @richparkerlab is not dumb enough to pay some cycle-Nazi £100K to harass citizens on social media, when they'll do it for free.

There is a road safety emergency in our region. As Mayor, I’m committed to tackling this issue. Tomorrow, I am launching the recruitment of two roles to join my Transport Taskforce to improve safety for road users, foster a culture of active travel, and reduce car dependency.
