Adulting has humbled me a lot . I finally understand why so many adults stop posting on social media or even deactivate their accounts. Life feels so much peaceful when everything isn't on display. Like they say , out of sight, out of mind.. There's something really comforting about people not knowing every detail of your life.

learning how to tell when advice is really just someone else’s regret in disguise. your divorced friend cautioning you about marriage, your broke uncle’s take on investments, your unhappy parent steering your career. they are not advising you. they are processing themselves. once you learn to hear the wound behind the words you stop letting lost people give you directions.

Crazy part about being in North America. If you didn’t know the Russia-Ukraine war was happening the last 4 years… You’d still be completely unaffected by it. You’d have no idea. So the idea of still consuming fear mongering media (anxiety inducing); Is beyond belief…

Your job is to keep the wheels from falling off. If you slip into a doomscroll session, eat too much, or go to bed late, the worst thing you can do is let that bad behavior be a permission slip for more. Get back on the horse. The people you envy aren’t machines. They’re not perfect. They probably just snap back quickly. It’s so easy to spiral when the dam breaks, but the best thing you can do is keep the bus from breaking down entirely. Eliminate the huge swings, if not for the sake of progress, than for your sanity.

I don’t believe you’re ever fully “ready” for anything. Sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith and allow God to lead. You’ll learn as you go.

If you want to be authentic, be prepared to be disliked. If you want to be private, be prepared to be gossiped about. If you want to stick to your boundaries, be prepared to be seen as unfriendly. If you don't want to explain yourself, be prepared to be misunderstood.
