I can think of so many important questions that should have been asked in a video interview by CTV before granting Carney an exclusive to deliver this message unquestioned.
Rosie Barton acknowledges Harper did videos like this and the press gallery attacked him for it... then claims Carney does more press conferences. He doesn't! "And (Harper) was highly criticized at the time for the exact thing that Marie pointed out, and that was not being open with the media." Harper was a notorious media dodger who still dragged his ass to Question Period 64% of the time in his first year. Carney? A pathetic 29% — skipping over 70% of QP while jetting off on 26 foreign trips and racking up 84 days abroad... with empty MoUs to show for it Harper didn't cancel numerous pressers at the last minute and he didn't treat female reporters with oozing contempt as Carney has done... Harper froze out the press with open and mutual disdain. Carney does it with word salad, glossy infomercial, and slick Davos bullsh!t while avoiding accountability in the House. And the press eats it up! Trudeau 2.0 with Savile Row suits and zero accountability Not seeing much, if any, criticism today from the paid press gallery for the BS packed infomercial
The lying with impunity has begun. He base don't fact check this guy because their current reality is fragile and they know it.
The Poilievre (C)onservatives have no response to this style of messaging. Carney tactfully blends his brand of economic responsibility with a protection of modern progressive values and Canadian heritage. I disagree with his foundation — that Canada is just a more progressive America — but it's hard to ignore that this strategy make both the NDP and CPC irrelevant in their current forms.
