@AureliaIssaa @KeruboSk For me email is like a Schrödinger/Pandora’s Box type thought experiment- the information in it is both good and bad, however if I open it I’m left with whatever doesn’t escape. Ergo, best to just leave the email unopened; if it’s important enough, I’ll get a meeting request.

@KeruboSk Yes 😭 That “if I don’t open it, it doesn’t exist” ADHD is very real. It’s not laziness it’s the mental load, the what-if anxiety, the “this might require follow-up” paralysis. So the mail just… sits there becoming emotional décor. You’re definitely not alone in that one.

@kylegriffin1 So when do we put 1+1 together to realize that the Mar A Lago files probably contained the most damning evidence of Trump-Epstein activity? Why else go to this level of making sure we don’t know the full story?

Breaking: The Trump-appointed Judge Aileen Cannon has permanently blocked the release of special counsel Jack Smith's report on the classified documents case — saying releasing the report would be unfair to Trump and his co-defendants.

VA Secretary Doug Collins
VA Secretary Doug Collins@SecVetAffairs·
Effective immediately, VA is halting enforcement of the interim final rule, Evaluative Rating: Impact of Medication. VA issued the rule to clarify existing policy and protect Veterans’ benefits in the wake of an ongoing court action. But many interpreted the rule as something that could result in adverse consequences. While VA does not agree with the way this rule has been characterized, the department always takes Veterans’ concerns seriously. To alleviate these concerns, VA will continue to collect public comments regarding the rule, but it will not be enforced at any time in the future. Under my leadership, VA is ensuring that everyone applying for benefits receives everything they have earned as quickly and conveniently as possible. This includes reducing the backlog of Veterans waiting for benefits by more than 60 percent. We will continue these improvements on behalf of America’s Veterans, families, caregivers and survivors.

@DaveLutter396 @FullCountTommy The owners want to lock in the “scarcity for most” economics of the RSN failure era for 3-4 years beyond their payday of the upcoming blackout free streaming product. The players are right to balk at that proposal.

@FullCountTommy You’re diluting yourself if you don’t think at the end of all of this that there will be a hard cap and a hard floor. The small market will band together and hold firm on a hard cap. Bank on it. In exchange, the small market owners will have to agree to a hard floor

Owners want a cap....on THEIR unrealistic, nonsense terms. A realistic cap includes being transparent on revenue (which they won't do), a tight cap/floor spread that doesn't decrease player revenue share (which they won't do) and shorter time to FA (which they won't do)
Brett Taylor@Brett_A_Taylor

Even if you argue that cap/floor is right approach for MLB, what's a REALISTIC spread that even JUST THE OWNERS would agree to among themselves? Like, what, $250M/$200M? That’s a MASSIVE gap compared to NBA/NFL, yet there’s STILL no chance small market clubs agree to that floor!

@FullCountTommy A cap/floor before the small teams get the wealth redistribution that’s gonna happen under a unified MLB.tv with no blackouts? The sequencing that Manfred has telegraphed gives away the end game- keep as much future TV cash away from the players as possible.

@Brett_A_Taylor @shanderson84 It sets a bargaining position for the anti-trust exempt cartel. This is all about the league crying poverty before it figures out how to redistribute the TV money from a RSN model to league distribution model.

@Keeegs2 @Brett_A_Taylor So you’re basically putting teams that choose to regularly go over into a loop where they’re constantly outbidding for free agent talent because that’s their lane for talent acquisition? And that’s supposed to be better than now how exactly?

@Brett_A_Taylor I think the more important thing is making it nearly impossible to acquire talent via draft and IFA, that's a big, big penalty, maybe not double the payroll but yeah.

@DAVHQ If the current admin is looking to push everyone to VA Choice and fragment the post service medical record for veterans, they’ve found an incredibly efficient way to accomplish that- tie it to disability compensation outcomes.

Disabled American Veterans (DAV)
DAV is extremely disappointed and alarmed by VA’s decision to issue an Interim Final Rule today that could potentially reduce disability compensation for millions of disabled veterans. The new regulation would allow VA to reduce disability compensation ratings for veterans who take medications to control their conditions or reduce their symptoms. The rule—which disregards clear decisions from the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, Jones v. Shinseki, 26 Vet. App. 56 (2012) & Ingram v. Collins, 38 Vet. App. 130 (2025)—was developed and issued in a closed and unnecessarily expedited process that effectively shut out veterans from providing any meaningful input. It is unclear if and how VA is implementing this dramatic change and how it will impact the more than 6 million veterans currently receiving disability compensation, most of whom are taking at least one medication. dav.org/learn-more/new…

@ShawnIsDynamite @BizballMaury You think the Saudi Sovereign fund and US private equity couldn’t/wouldn’t float it for the 5 years it would take to bury MLB? You throw a direct competitor to MLB into the market and their anti-trust protection will evaporate within 18 months. Without that, it’s game over.

A lot of chatter about the MLBPA being neutered in the wake of Tony Clark resigning. I see this the other way around. If the players elect Bruce Meyer as interim exec director, I’d expect the PA’s position to be more as it was during Don Fehr and Marvin Miller’s tenures. Anyone that remembers how labor negotiations went between Meyer and Dan Halem know it was a dog fight. The 2020 negotiations for a shortened season became so heated that Manfred and Clark met separately in Phoenix to try and break the impasse. Now, we have a situation in which Meyer could ultimately be the one to get a deal across the finish line with Manfred. Meyer is old-school union and is going to bare knuckle any fight around talk of a cap. He’s a no bullshit kind of guy.

@ShawnIsDynamite @BizballMaury An extended lockout would be the easiest way for owners to lose an astronomical amount of their top talent to a rival league in fall/winter ‘26 and all of ‘28, especially with all the opt outs of late.

@ShawnIsDynamite @BizballMaury Owners would take 5 years of losses before they took the 30%+ devaluation that would come with a 2 year lockout. And they’d still have to get a CBA the players would sign. How much $$$ do you think is on teams books beyond ‘27 (Dodgers/Mets excepted)?

@michaelqmoody @Brett_A_Taylor I would at that point claim he had a relationship with his wife’s sister-in-law. The whole in-law thing is messy enough, so go with the clarity of sibling’s spouse or spouse of sibling for the sibling-in-law designation.
