@VexArcYT @NickRebornTV Because you might prefer Valve’s Source 2 engine, neither Valve nor Facepunch charge any license or royalty to sell your standalone product on Steam, and it absolutely allows C#.

I’ll be the #1 defender of this on this app then I guess. The fact you can export and sell projects on steam will change lives. I really think this game is a gift to the indie scene and can only improve with time. $20 is such a small amount of money to spend on this, and it will eventually go F2P. There’s endless potential here and people have just seen the surface. Facepunch has been working on TOOLS. Not a traditional game. I’ve noticed legitimate complaints but a loud community of (children?) complaining to no end about the price, optional cosmetics, and how the game is doomed. To that I say - lol

It's a little funny that the spiritual successor to Garry's Mod released yesterday, and nobody cares at all.

Valve should have skipped the gyro. Never seen a game implement it in a fun enjoyable way rather than a gimmick

@aubymori The vertical bobbing one isn’t even nastolgia for me honestly, it’s just straight up broken in modern Minecraft and it bugs me.

@afabriciius @vozercozer Yeah and then you have a million problems like with screenshare audio not working and you have to go find some random discord client that *technically* violates their tos EVEN THOUGH I JUST WANNA USE THE STUPID SERVICE!!!!!!

@vozercozer >flatpak install flathub com.discordapp.Discord >sudo snap install discord what else do you need, sunshine? you basically need to learn to read and follow basic instructions when you use linux. I do understand it could be an issue for windows users.

Some details: - Based on my straight port of Minecraft 1.2.5 to C# - Terrain renderer has been moved over to use Godot's low-level rendering APIs - Most input has been moved over to use Godot's input systems - Entire game loop runs from the process functions in Godot

The original game is still running from the OpenTK/OpenGL window you see on the right, and inputs are still being piped through it. But theoretically I could move a lot of systems including input over to Godot and eventually strip out all the OpenGL stuff entirely.

I had a devious idea and prototyped something today. This is Minecraft 1.2.5, ported to C#, rendering the world directly into Godot 4.6. The game is started up from godot, and the game loop runs from process instead of the usual while loop.

All this talk about the legacy console leak reminded me that I ported Minecraft 1.2.5 to C# in its entirety a while back. The version I'm showing here is actually a little more broken because I was halfway through completely remaking the renderer in modern OpenGL.

@vos6434 that is, the online protocol of release 1.8. My project does have full multiplayer support but unfortunately there aren't many 1.2.5 servers up anymore lol

@vos6434 Seen it! Love to see these minecraft ports, Id love to abstract the renderer out of my project completely so I could drop in Vulkan or DX12 as optional backends. If I had infinite free time I'd backport features from release 1.8 and get my project working with the online protocol

Spent a week doing a mock art pass on this foyer area. Obviously you can imagine a few extra details like some stuff on the coat rack and some plants, but I kinda just wanted to get the atmosphere down. Rain + Steam Audio is neat too. #Godot #horror #gamedev #Blender #Audio
