Practice notes:
• This might be the first training camp practice I've ever covered that I'd call "chilly." And that's coming off multiple days around 100 degrees. Maybe that's why Daboll pushed them for a 2-hour, 11-minute practice. That's the longest practice of his tenure (rarely tops two hours).
• The first-team offense looked a lot like what I expect to be the case at times this season: Really good when featuring Malik Nabers, not so good with everything else.
Nabers continued his dominance with a team-high five catches. He torched No. 1 corner Paulson Adebo for a TD on a fade route on a third-and-long from the ~20. It shouldn't look as easy as he makes it. Nabers and Wilson also had a great connection for a short TD pass with Wilson firing the ball before Nabers was out of his break on an out route. There was nothing Adebo could do, as Nabers caught the pass along the sideline despite stumbling out of his break.
The Giants keep trying to make the Wan'Dale Robinson downfield throws a thing. It wasn't successful today. Deonte Banks had Robinson completely blanketed on one to force an incompletion and Robinson caught another on a slot fade but came down out of bounds. Wilson also threw a bad pick when Robinson essentially ran a wheel route with a pick at the LOS. The ball hung in the air forever and Dane Belton came over and intercepted it for a 100-yard pick six.
The ball was in jeopardy more often than typical with Wilson. Daniel Bellinger had to turn into a defender to prevent an Adebo interception. In a situational period, the offense had fourth-and-7 from the 23. Wilson launched a jump ball to Nabers that was picked by safety Tyler Nubin. Nabers slammed his helmet to the ground as he walked off the field.
• Jaxson Dart had a pretty efficient day, although he only attempted eight passes (compared to 22 for Wilson). He ripped a beautiful corner route to Dalen Cambre for a 28-yard gain during his situational period. For some reason, they didn't let him attempt a final play from the opposing 31 despite two seconds remaining on the clock (they were down by four). Dart finished the day by scrambling around and hitting Lil'Jordan Humphrey for a short TD on a free play after Abdul Carter jumped offside.
• Watching Jameis Winston every day, you gain an appreciation for the experience. He completed 3-of-10 passes today. One incompletion was a throw over the middle that hit his receiver in the back of the head. Another was a perfectly placed 35-yard fade that dropped right in the bucket for Da'Quan Felton but was poked away by O'Donnell Fortune.
The third-team offense was trailing by 3 in Winston's situational period. He got them to the opposing 35 with 36 seconds remaining on a 25-yard post to Zach Pascal. He then threw three straight bombs into the end zone despite only needing a FG to tie. The Giants eventually set up for a 43-yard field goal, the FG unit came on the field ... and they didn't have Graham Gano attempt the kick.
• Tommy DeVito went 1-for-10 with two interceptions (both by Dee Williams). The performance was as bad as the stat line looks. I continue to fail to see why they're giving a fourth QB reps.
• Evan Neal took almost every first-team RG rep again. Jake Kubas slipped in for a few snaps on one series. As was the case at tackle, Neal is on the ground a lot.
• With a lot of third-down work, there was an extended look at Carter, Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux on the field together. Carter is the one who moves inside the most, but Burns and Thibodeaux lined up in different spots on a few snaps as well.
