@wode_maya Kwasia. Didn't you know we had territorial lands? Akans had their lands, Dagbon had theirs and all others. Why do you think certain people are indigenous to certain places and others are not? Wo y3 adwee paa. Acting like people entered other territories without checks is stupid.

Did you know that many of the borders we have in Africa today were drawn in Europe, without a single African present? Why should we protect something we didn’t create?

@consoleghana We're surrounded by too many muslims. We don't want them invading our country like they did with the Ivory Coast

Because we are not a mature continent, because many countries are profoundly different, because the average level is low, and the most developed countries, Ghana, Rwanda, Senegal, Ethiopia, etc., rather than driving the continent's economy, as they are doing, would be sucked back 20 years. There is no development where immigration situation is unregulated.

@coldsummers91 GDP is like average scores in a class. For us, we know 2 kids in the class out of 30 are scoring 100% whereas the 28 kids score 5%. So for our GDP to be so high and yet poverty and standard of living to be so low it tells us the gap between our wealthy and poor is beyond measure

@metrotvgh This woman does nothing. So many illegal migrants in Kasoa Wallantu area and she's doing nothing about it. Nobody knows who they are or where they're from. They just showed in large quantities.

@LongLyf2 Because of conflict of interest? You don't see anything wrong with such a mine being handed over to the president's brother?

The flyer circulating about the Damang mine is clearly political propaganda. But it also opens a bigger national conversation that many people avoid. Most of the major mines are owned by foreign multinationals, not Ghanaians. Major mining companies operating in Ghana and their owners 1.AngloGold Ashanti Obuasi Mine Owned by AngloGold Ashanti plc (UK based with South African origins). 2.AngloGold Ashanti Iduapriem Iduapriem Mine near Tarkwa Owned by AngloGold Ashanti plc. 3.Gold Fields Ghana Ltd Tarkwa Mine Owned by Gold Fields Limited. 4.Abosso Goldfields Limited Damang Mine Owned by Gold Fields Limited. 5.Chirano Gold Mines Ltd Chirano Mine Owned by Asante Gold Corporation. 6.Asanko Gold Mine Ltd Nkran and Obotan Mine Owned by Galiano Gold Inc.. 7.Newmont Ghana Gold Ltd Ahafo Mine Owned by Newmont Corporation. 8.Newmont Golden Ridge Ltd Akyem Mine Now owned by Zijin Mining Group. 9. Adamus Resources Ltd Nzema Mine Owned by Nguvu Mining Ltd. 10. Perseus Mining Ghana Ltd Edikan Mine Owned by Perseus Mining Limited. 11.Mensin Gold Bibiani Ltd Bibiani Mine Owned by Asante Gold Corporation. 12. Golden Star Wassa Ltd Wassa Mine Owned by Chifeng Jilong Gold Mining Co Ltd. 13.Ghana Manganese Company Ltd Owned by Consolidated Minerals Limited Ultimately controlled by Ningxia Tianyuan Manganese Industry Group. 14. Ghana Bauxite Company Ltd Owned by Bosai Minerals Group. 15. Cardinal Namdini Mining Ltd Owned by Engineers & Planners Company Ltd. 16. Xtra Gold Mining Ltd Owned by Xtra Gold Resources Corp. 17.Azumah Resources Ghana Ltd Owned by Engineers & Planners Company Ltd. 18. Earl International Group GH Ltd Linked to Shaanxi Mining Company Ltd. 19. Goldstone Akrokeri Ltd Owned by Goldstone Resources Ltd. 20. Prestea Sankofa Gold Ltd Jointly owned by Government of Ghana and private investors. Now the uncomfortable question. If South Africans, Canadians, Australians, Americans and Chinese can own Ghana’s biggest mines, Why is it suddenly a national crisis if a Ghanaian company like Engineers & Planners Company Ltd owned by Ibrahim Mahama becomes a major player? For decades, billions of dollars in gold have left Ghana through foreign owned companies. So the real debate should not be propaganda. The real debate should be this. Would it actually be bad for Ghana if more of our mines were owned by Ghanaians? Imagine if even half of these mines were Ghanaian owned companies. Imagine if several were controlled by large Ghanaian firms with the capital, equipment and capacity to operate them. Imagine if the profits, dividends, taxes, supply chains and reinvestments stayed largely in Ghana. That is how countries build national industrial champions. The real national conversation is not about one man. It is about whether Ghana wants to keep exporting its gold wealth to foreign balance sheets or start building Ghanaian mining giants. And that is a debate worth having. 🇬🇭

If Lamine is able to get his numbers up, he might move from a Ronaldinho kinda player to Messi. Not saying he'll be good as Messi but be one of the guys who are incredible on the ball and still be statistically great.
