Just listened to a superb episode of In Our Time on Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle. Apart from everything else I loved how exhilarated Bragg was by it, curiosity still incandescent at 85.

Can't retailers just do more with less / not have so many employees if they can't afford them / spend less on avocado toast etc. Or is that purely for marginalised citizens we choose not to help rather than huge corporates who choose to look after themselves?

@Will_Humphrey @BrandDNA Well, that was magnificent. Both downbeat & uplifting. How does he do that? Get so transcendent without relying on ritual & familiarity? Make 2 & 1/2 hours fly? The Wild God stuff soared. The Weeping Song, well. My lad was agog that 67 yr old could PERFORM like that.

For those asking what £40 Man is or was I can find no trace of it online so maybe I just imagined it. But seem to remember this was a thing circa 2007. Middle-aged professional guy who spent £40 on a Friday on 3 CDs + a book. Classic album reissues. Read Word magazine. Anyone?
