So somebody called churches on phone and said give me money? And the churches said no? Lol. No kidding. First, churches work to help their own members first. Second, when the church does help outsiders, they will require people to come and talk with them first. Jesus always shared the Gospel with people. This isn’t a gotcha. Sorry folks, Jesus doesn’t tell us to go and feed the world.

There's a lady on tiktok calling churches saying she needs help buying formula for her baby just to see if they will actually help their communities. She's called 20+ places and so far only a mosque and a tiny little church in Appalachia have offered to help.

@cerysturner7 @DanielKebedeNEU @MattWrack Whatever the pay rise ends up at, it's no good if the government doesn't fund it, as they haven't in the past. They have to fund it or it will lead to larger class sizes and fewer teachers. A Labour government should be investing in schools - buildings, facilities and staff.

Unpopular opinion but after FIVE YEARS waiting in the OFSTED window, both my schools have put themselves forward for an early test inspection in November. Given the option to meet OFSTED on a hill of our choosing, we took it.

@Headteacherchat I’m so surprised at all the £39 is too much. I’ve not known a Xmas party for £40 for at least 10 years. Ours this year is £53 and that was the cheapest one by quite a margin.

Anon post: We’ve just sent out the email for the staff Christmas party, but four of our fantastic TAs have already declined because they can’t afford the £39 cost per person. I really don’t want finances to be a barrier to them joining. Has anyone found good, low-cost or inclusive alternatives to ensure everyone can celebrate together?
