I get it. It’s uncomfortable. I really wish I could say that Israel 🇮🇱 isn‘t committing war crimes in Gaza, but if you look up the list of actions defined as war crimes and you look up what Israel says it‘s doing (not even what the Red Cross claims it‘s doing, but what the Israeli government says), there can be no doubt. And yes, Hamas also committed war crimes and no, under international law that does not give Israel a free pass to commit war crimes in retaliation, because the definition of most war crimes is that the victims are not the perpetrators but civilians. If the killing of one innocent is ‘avenged’ by killing another innocent, that just means two innocents are dead. 💔 Pray for sanity to return. Better yet, DEMAND that sanity returns. My heart is broken. 💔

Remember this is Blackfullas’ collective Voice, not Labors. It should live on beyond current governments. Vote Yes.

The idea that capping rents will "affect supply" is based on the idea that renters should just cop massive rent increases so property developers/investors can make extra profit. The Greens don't believe 8 million renters should be sacrificed to prop up a broken housing system.

Why are journalists still uncritically repeating Labor's claim that the $500m /year HAFF will build 30 000 homes in 5 years? 500 000 000 x 5 = $2.5 billion. $2.5 billion ÷ 30 000 = $83 333. The government cannot build new homes for $83k each. This is a public private partnership.

Not impressed by first raft of security qus on gov.uk All except one of these qus imply or indicate some kind of privilege (higher education, class, wealth). This really isn't good enough for a universal form on a universally used website.

(Policy geeks and journos pls take note) If you're debating/interviewing someone about housing policy, the first Q you should ask is "Do you want house prices and rents to fall, and if so, by what %?" Most pollies will dodge the question; they don't actually want prices to fall.

So the federal budget surplus is now $19bn. All the Greens are asking for is $2.5 billion a year for public housing and $1 billion a year to incentivise a freeze and cap on rent increases. The only one standing in the way of solutions to the housing crisis is Labor

The most annoying thing people do at gyms is take dumbbells and then proceed to do their exercise right where they picked them up, blocking anyone else who wants dumbbells from accessing them

My favourite study of "how often does a family with small children get a respiratory infection?" is this one, from the USA: doi.org/10.1093/cid/ci… Children <5y have one of 16 common respiratory viruses detected in a nasal swab 50% of the year!

Atlassian used to share big company changes in "town halls" then follow with written info. Recently swapped - share company updates in Confluence 2-5 days ahead of the town hall. Staff asked much more informed Qs this way around. We will do it this way going forward.
